Have repurposed leftover bolognese with extra seasonings, more tomatoes, black beans and corn to have with rice. Love using up the leftovers.

I’ve just waved my family off so I am a solo duck ! Mr Duck has taken the twins to go see some of his family in UAE for a few days and although I was invited , it would have involved a lot of paperwork, a 7 hour flight and very expensive travel insurance. I did feel slightly guilty about not making more of an effort to get to know his family as they are also my children’s family , but there will be other trips . My teens are both out so it’s strangely quiet at the bubble pond !
( by strange I mean blissful 😂)

does mean I will have to go make my own cup of tea in a minute though 😂

Stopping by to say that the dog loves the sea. No pebbly beach but she didn’t care.

Being up here is like medicine for the soul.

I'm currently looking after a dog who won't stop licking the furniture. It's driving me nuts. I tell her not to do it and discourage her, she stops for a second then starts again. Weirdo.

Yuk! I wonder why? Weird!

If nearly-my dog tries that I'll drive her back to Sydney.

But she won't, because she's lovely 😇

The local “fuzzy black with a bit of white bib” cat has just been to visit the living room window. I was alerted by Hotescat, having a proper meltdown, and looked over to the window, just in time to see a pair of eyes sink downwards, out of sight 🤣

If you're looking after her, presumably she's not in her regular home for a bit? The licking might be a stress response. Licking is very soothing. Perhaps you can give her a licky mat with some peanut butter on it? Or a kong? Might keep her busy and not ingesting anything yucky from your furniture polish. ❤

I have been struck by a horrendous cold. Really snotty, brain fog, feel sick, headache, sneezing/coughing and stomach issues, as well as a quite low (35 degree celcius) inner ear temp all day. OH tried to make me call the drs this morning because of my temp but I know from prior experience (obsessively testing my body temp when ill during covid times) that this is fairly normal for me. Will need to get some tests though just in case

Can you get other traazers to boil you some ginger root up? I hope you feel better soon because feeling like that is rotten. Also, do you have low thyroid as low body temp can be to do with that.

We don't have any atm but I'll get him to get some tomorrow, along with lemons. We have honey so I'm having that in a lemsip atm.
And not that I'm aware of re thyroid but I'll have a look (online not internally)

She's in her own home. Will try a Kong, although her teeth aren't great so she might not want it.

I got the keys to my house today. I am officially a homeowner! On the way to pick the keys up from the estate agent I realised I was still wearing my mum's wellies to protect my feet from Guideboard Dog. They went nicely with my Wolves in the Throne Room t-shirt and knee length black denim shorts. Fashion icon 💅

Kongs are also great for licking if you smear something sticky around the inside. Peanut butter is good. Mixed with a tiny bit ofMarmite is good too. Or even a smear of wet dog food. Hope you both are ok,

That's awesome, I love it when a ninny has good news. Nice choice of t-shirt too, being metal is always in fashion in my opinion.
