Little Boots still releases music, in fact her latest single came out today!

My specialist subject is flop acts of the early 2010s, where it was a lot harder to get a hit and the market started to get saturated as streaming was juuuuust on it's way in. But I was really into finding up and coming acts, who then ineviabtly flopped as there was little to no interest, favourites include...

Soundgirl

Cover Drive

Parade

Girls Can't Catch

I can't add any more videos but also Oh My, A*M*E, Twenty Twenty, Luminites, I could go on... It's a very small section of time that I look back on fondly haha

Ben has still got it!!! Hahaha
Their last uk album make it good was really good. They were a underrated band to be honest. A head of their time back in 1999
Make it Good is still one of my favourite albums ever (Learn to Fly and If I Don't Have You are just ♥♥), I saw them at Durham Gala Theatre when that album was first released (I was in college, so about 2001/2002 ish) and it was the best gig I saw, so intimate with just them and an actual band.

Also, "Why Can't I?" by Liz Phair.

Liz Phair going from a hugely respected indie artist to a mainstream middle of the road pop/rock act was one of the biggest self owns in music history. She never really recovered and seemed to go off in the most bizarre directions.

Also around the same time (2009) anyone remember little boots? She had a couple of really catchy songs 'Remedy' and 'new in town' then totally disappeared...
She didn’t disappear! She’s released three albums and several EPs, and has a new album out soon. I saw her live in 2015. She may not get much radio airplay but is very much still active!

I’ve quoted you again lol I’m listening to make it good whilst I clean ❤❤ Such a good album on this ain’t what love is about. Paul’s vocals really come through on the album, I love their other albums but they were pure cheese lol

Does anyone remember a girl band from about 2002/3 called Lemonscent? They had a song called Beautiful which used to get played on Magic TV all time time, but I can find no trace of it anyway. The video was set in a castle and had medieval vibe to it. Please tell me I didn’t imagine this?

Does anyone recall a song from about 2003 that was a dance number sung by a dark-haired young woman and had the lyric 'it just won't do, without you' and had a long bit with her going 'lalalalalalala' over and over. It had a recurrent horn riff. The video showed young woman on a beach knocking a large ball over a net.

Yep I remember them, had totally forgotten them. I also remember another band called The Moffatts who were riding the Hanson wave, I don't think they were a complete flop but they seemed to disappear quite quickly
