First job out of uni

Hey everyone, I've been working at an office in an entry-level position for about a year now (started as an intern at a different department for 6 months, then I got hired in my current role when the person before me left). I graduated from uni a month ago and my contract ends in January.
My supervisors have been hinting that they'd like to renew my contract. However I'm not sure on what to do.

This job doesn't really have anything to do with my studies and it's not really even a job that requires a degree. The salary is not great (it's acceptable for a first job out of uni, considering I only graduated a month ago, and I've been able to save some money these past few months, but it's well below the average salary in my country), it's in a field that is notoriously badly paid, and it's a job that doesn't really directly translate to other fields either.

On the other hand, I don't have a career-oriented degree and it's going to be pretty hard to find a job that is 100% relevant to my studies. I will probably end up doing some sort of office job anyway (which I don't mind, I'm not really a career oriented person). Moreover, if I leave this job I will probably have to settle for a lower salary or even do paid internships again at first in order to accrue experience in other fields. Thankfully, supporting myself is not a problem for now, as I don't pay rent and I have quite a bit of savings.

I've been looking at job postings and I've applied to a few but I'm still not sure on the best course of action.
I could stay at my current job for another 6 months or another year and look for something else in the meantime, but I'm worried that I'm only going to waste my time on a dead end position that won't matter on my CV. This is not a field/position in which I see myself still working in 5 years and I don't want to get stuck in it.
On the other hand I could use this time to save some money, gain some experience and maybe be able to go straight into a better-paid position afterwards. I know some people would kill to already have a job right after graduation and I don't want to be picky either. My plan was always to start working as soon as possible after uni to save some money and start filling my CV. But I want to fill it with meaningful stuff, not random jobs that no one will care about.

Of course, my employer could decide that they don't want to renew my contract, in which case I'm back to square one. But if they offer me another six months or another year I'm not sure if I should accept.

Any advice?

Unless you have something else lined up that you really want to do, I would take any renewal - you can still leave at any time if you find a better opportunity etc. It’s also easier to get a different job when you already have one and makes things easier with references and the like if you don’t have gaps.

I should also mention that my current employer is the world leader in its field. Like, think being a receptionist at Google rather than at the hairdresser's down the street. It's a big company which obviously comes with a lot of advantages in terms of security, policies, inner mobility etc even if the salary is low and the job position isn't very prestigious
