Everyone is struck down by this but there’s just no time right now to let it run its course. Anyone got some less well known methods to try to get over the worst of it quickly? Obviously I’m doing round the clock nurofen and paracetemol, I can’t take the cold & flu ones because they knock me right out (even the ones that say non-drowsy). Vitamins, etc. Rest. It just won’t budge. I’m panicking a bit because I’ve got an entire Xmas Eve buffet to cook and then Christmas Day. I couldn’t even do my own food shop. I had to send a list and pray the right things came back. 😩

Had it for 9 days now and 9 days ago I was pretty happy thinking least it'll be over before Christmas. Now I'm losing hope, it's definitely getting better but still have a very bad cough, blocked nose, get tired/hot easily and no appetite. I also have no taste or smell which will probably be the worst thing to not have on Christmas 😭

Worst flu I've had for years. "Luckily" had it last week so got over the worst by Xmas however it really took the wind out of my sails. Took 2 days off work and was in bed 3 days with it. Had covid last year and was only really ill with that for 1 day so it's been worse. Makes me not want to go anywhere next December to avoid catching it again

I ended up contacting my doctors after having it for 10 days and not feeling any better, got some antibiotics. Finished them today and feel mostly better just in the mornings I still need to take paracetamol for my head and my nose is still blocked unless I'm sat still. Still have a cough but I'll have that a while

Never felt this ill in my life, had a cold before Christmas and was left with a cough and thought I’d got through the seasonal illnesses. Well how wrong was I, whatever this is is bleeping shocking, high temp, can’t eat, I don’t EVER want to cough again, and worst of all I’ve got some kind of flu insomnia, I just can’t shut off and haven’t slept for 2 days, anyone else experienced this?

Yes I couldn't sleep for a few days so I was ill and exhausted. I always get a bad cough so that's no difference for me. I also didn't want to eat didn't eat properly for about 10 days. I also had no taste/smell. I made myself worse as I was taking medication to help but turns out it made me worse and made me dizzy/nauseous/vomit. I had antibiotics that finished a few days ago, I'm day 17 from when it first started and I'm still not 100% better. My cheek bones hurt as well and in sure it's something to do with this illness?

Not the flu but I had a horrific migraine for roughly 4 days straight and it came out of nowhere last Sunday. I nearly banged my head against the wall purposefully as nothing was working or helping.

It finally stopped this morning but now I have the residual exhaustion from being on overdrive for 4 days.
