I have to give a shout out for Lanzarote 😘.
Stay away from places like Puerto Del Carmen. Playa Blanca is much nicer. Hire a car visit the old capital Teguise right in the centre of the island. one of the gallery owners has a goat that just roams around and the antique shops are amazing. Go to Famara beach no tourists miles of beach so beautiful. Visit everything connected to Cesar Manrique. He ensured that Lanzarote didn’t go the way of Tenerife. Go to the north of the island there is a beautiful lookout place and try and visit the island of Graciosa.

I’ve also been to Paris many, many times at least 25. I have a friend who lives there and have been fortunate to stay with her quite a few times, as well as staying in hotels before she moved there. It’s a very small city compared to London. I love going to the markets there. I’ve also been to Honfleur, several times, in the Northern part of France and highly recommend it. During one trip to Honfleur we went on a tour of some of the Battlefields and also did a Calvados (Apple brandy) tour.

There are people who go back time and time again, Sandy Lane Hotel has a lot of repeat guest of the celeb type who go year after year. The beach there is okay, not spectacular, lots of sun loungers with little privacy. There is literally nothing outside the hotels on that stretch of beach, well there wasn't when we went. The only thing we could rave about was The Cliff restaurant, it was fantastic with a great atmosphere. We did enjoy our holiday but wouldn't go back.

SA is on our want to go to wish list. Where did you go?
I loved SA and found it v safe, I didn't venture out in joburg but up around Kruger and a long the coast is wonderful

Have visited many places in the US and I was born there. I love the East Coast, not including New York (have been numerous times)in this. Someone here mentioned going to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. I’ve been there too, as part of a Civil War battlefield tour. Fascinating. Washington, DC, Virginia and Maryland are wonderful places to visit. Parts of Virginia and Maryland are basically Washington suburbs but if you go further south in Virginia it becomes more Southern. Williamsburg, including historical Williamsburg are a must see. Jamestown too. Continue down the coast and go to Virginia Beach and the islands of Chincoteague and Assateague where wild ponies live. Read the book Misty of Chincoteague first.
i’ve been to Washington many times, and on my last visit, I discovered the a holocaust museum. I went to it two days in a row. There is a very good public transportation system in DC which I took full advantage of.

it gets very hot and muggy in the summer so try to visit at a different time.

I’ve to Seattle twice, and enjoyed both times, Went with then partner first time and stayed with a relative. Did a lot of side trips including a visit to the San Juan Islands by car using the ferry. This was before Seattle became uber trendy and expensive. Second time I stayed with a friend who’d been living there for years. Stayed in Seattle the whole time. The exchange rate between the US and UK is so bad now that even if we could travel there it would be an expensive trip.

I’m from Scotland been as far as USA, UAE and have seen a lot of Europe etc but by far Rome is my fav place ever.

Worst/least fav has got to be Berlin, apart from visiting TV tower and the Berlin Wall I was not a fan, people rude, the food was terrible, just didn’t feel amazed by it unfortunately.

Best: has got to be the Greek islands! Been to Zante, Crete and Kos and would return to all of them!

Worst: Berlin - not awful but I wouldn’t go back. Lots of history but just feels depressing, whereas Kraków also has lots of ww2 history but it’s gorgeous - also not really anything ‘WOW’ about the landmarks in Berlin or city itself. Also smells bad everywhere, and you can’t cross the streets safely even at crossings because drivers don’t care for the lights they just drive straight through red.

Maybe tainted for me because it was a sixth form trip, but I was with all my friends and did enjoy overall. Also it was FREEZING in February at -8c and we had to do 7 hour walking tours outdoors 😳

I haven’t been on many holidays at almost 30 years of age. Butttt....

favourite - Las Vegas! Went here in 2018 and just loved it. Loved the atmosphere, the weather, the casino lol. Just everything about it. Also got engaged which was the icing on top of a fab holiday!

worst - berlin! My partner got us a trip to Berlin for my birthday last January. I absolutely hated it, couldn’t wait to get home. So many people I’d spoke to absolutely loved it and spoke so highly of it. But god I found it absolutely bruuuutal!!

I pretty much love any country I've been to. But for this question...

Favourites - Hungary, I thought Budapest was so interesting. Australia, just gorgeous. France, been so many times and always love it.

Least - I guess Tennerife just because it was so touristy, but I'd still go again! And though I enjoy Italy I do get tired of how rude I find a lot of locals, and the driving is insane.

Favourite , I love Europe in general but the Greek isles hold a piece of my heart, and bed as I have 2 former street cats. But I love the people, culture and natural beauty.
Least favourite is Dubai, it’s fine there’s pros. But you will be treated appallingly particularly when not with a man. It’s fairly ugly and just not my way of life.

I have to give a shout out for Lanzarote 😘.

Agreed we had a villa in the middle of nowhere. And when we did venture to the big places I hated it. But away from there is full of natural beauty and as a last minute holiday that I booked on a whim. I really enjoyed it.

Favourite: Nepal and New Zealand. Jaw droppingly beautiful and in parts, so remote and empty of people. I remember standing on a beach on the west coast of South Island in NZ and thinking it was the most beautiful panorama I've ever seen: black sand beaches, huge waves, subtropical rain forest and snowy mountain peaks, all in one frame

Least favourite: Brussels in Belgium. Just very depressing. Felt like the poor man's France. Dubai: Westfield/Brentwood in the sun. Was also very underwhelmed by Australia: something very bland about it.
Ahaha I lived in Dubai, Hated it and always called in Essex in the sun!
