Ever since they've moved to Costa Rica, it's become clear how isolated Mia has been. Sienna has been her only real friend. I'm not saying there's a specific way 16 year olds have to act, but if I didn't watch Mia beforehand, I would have taken a guess at 13/14. It's honestly quite unbelievable that in just over a year, she's 18.

Darren and Georgie have screwed Mia up by not putting her in school and settling down. Mia's dad should have fought to get her back rather than let her mum basically abduct her to alienate her. Well done Darren and Georgie on your top notch parenting...🙄

This is kinda old might have been talked about before, I don't come round here often
Sorry but how is it possible to be so uncoordinated. Really does my head in watching it ahaha

Also I'm 17 and just written my personal statement. I've received 4/5 offers for uni (just waiting on one to get back to me). I think I'm Mias age although I thought she was one school year below me for some reason. I do think her going to uni would do her good but I'm not sure it's possible. Definitely not in the UK because she'd need atleast a 4/5 in Maths and English to even start a foundation course.
We’re in the same year and Mia is a school year below us. She was born in December, after the August cut off. I’ve also submitted to ucas and it’s so weird seeing her struggling to construct a sentence at times! Poor girl won’t be able to get a proper job at this rate but it’s what D&G want for her..

Just watched their latest video and again; Mia's attitude to dogs is absolutely disgusting. She's nearly seventeen years old so she's certainly old enough to understand why the dogs are behaving the way they are...they're essentially street dogs who've had no stability and have had to fight for everything and yet she's kicking off because it won't instinctively walk beautifully on the lead?! She's pretty much a grown woman and her views are so ignorant. I get that dogs aren't everyone's cup of tea but I honestly hate how she speaks about them!

I will say I liked their recent video. I thought Darren, Georgie and Sienna showed empathy towards the dogs and really had good hearts when it came to wanting to walk the dogs and them saying they would love to go there every week. It’s the first time in quite a while I saw a genuinely good side to them. It was nice to see Darren explain to Mia these dogs aren’t used to getting a lot of attention or taken out for walks regularly and god knows what kind of environment some of those dogs where in before being put in the shelter. I completely understand if someone had a traumatic experience with a dog or someone they know did and it’s made them afraid of them and not like being around dogs. In Mias case the way she talks about dogs and animals in general comes across horrible. It’s fine if she isn’t an animal person but she lacks empathy at times . I love dogs and when you have a dog of your own you see it as another human , you love it and treat it like a family member cause dogs show so many emotions they feel things like we do and they’re smart they can understand things which is why they deserve a lot of love.

I thought they might live in some kind of homeschooled community but on Ornella’s Tik Tok her and one of the lads Mia is friends with are in a school uniform. I wonder if they try to persuade Mia to join them at school.

I’ve found the school online and it’s a private US accredited school for international students. It looks amazing tbh. I’m gutted that Mia and Sienna don’t attend.

In Canada there is no august cut off and not sure if the UK is the same. Your grade here is determined by your year of birth, regardless of when you are born in the year

I wonder whether they've missed too much school to catch up?

Cut off dates are usual in Europe :) In Germany it's the end of June.

I think at international schools a lot of the students will have missed school to travelling and will be at different levels especially when they’ve come from different countries. The private international school Mia’s friends go to has a swimming pool and everything, I’m sure they could try to get Mia and Sienna in there.

Part of me does feel like Mia probably has. If she did want to try and get at least a few GCSEs in English and Maths I wonder how many gaps she’d need to fill in order to pass. Then again she had a primary education where she hopefully learnt basics like comprehension skills, if she’s been able to build on those skills through whatever homeschooling she does then maybe she could go back to school with her age group. I wonder if Sienna’s ever had any of that. I’m doing a degree in primary education and one the most important things that’s been told to us is about teacher modelling. Often the best way to learn something is by seeing someone else do it so I am very skeptics about how well Sienna’s able to learn at an appropriate level for her age from doing workbooks. It would do all their kids so good to go to school and nursery in order to socialise and get a decent education.

I think Sienna would do great attending school, however I have my doubts about Mia.

Not only would Mia be academically behind her peers I don't feel like she would fit in emotionally or socially. Most people her age are considering future carer paths and working towards reaching there goals in regards to college, university and jobs.

Mia spends most of her time hanging around with children that are a lot younger than her, so I think she would find it really hard to connect with a large group of people her own age.

Yeah but not missing out on roughly 5 years of school. They never homeschooled, despite of what they claim 😂 .

I mean in year 7 I went to school with a girl so delayed she still tit her pants 🤷🏻‍♀️ she probably should’ve been in a special school but schools accept kids who are behind

Darren and Georgie dont give 2 hoots about their kids education, they seem to have had a (mostly) average upbringing and attended schools but they cant seem to fathom why their own kids need GCSEs and A Levels. What will Mia do when she's 21, 25, 30 and applies for a job? YouTube wont be around forever, what will she say? "Oh sorry no qualifications, my parents videoed us for the internet..... anyway, treasure others be yourself!!!!!!"

Yes! Darren and Georgie preach that they hire people based on experience rather than qualifications but 99% of jobs aren’t like that

But the kids won’t have experience in anything other than youtube & won’t have qualifications either.
You don’t see kid actors not bothering to get any qualifications just because they act and have experience in acting - they still go off and get some basic qualifications some even go to University - because they are smart enough to know at some point down the line they might need a plan B because their job as an actor might not last forever or even for another 5 years - there is no way to know!

The difference here is child actors HAVE to do a certain amount of education whilst filming. They can't just film all day everyday! I'm pretty sure there is usually some sort of tutor/nanny that makes sure they only work the hours they're allowed and do the right hours of schooling too. (At least in the uk)

I wish there was some sort of rule in place like this specifically for things like youtube. If you are going to exploit your kids they need to at least be doing x hours of schooling a week and can only do x hours of filming/photo sessions or whatever

Why was Darren so annoyed by Mia asking if her outfits was good? Like calm down Darren, he was getting real aggressive with his attitude even if he’s “ joking “ and Georgie telling Mia’s outfits aren’t pretty and calling it dog chain… and yet she was telling about being body positive and gets criticise Mia’s style and making fun of her for asking Darren if he likes it….
