I left school at 13, never went back until I was 17 but I was studying with a bunch of people much older then me, my biggest regret is leaving school and now I have children I am so strict with them going to school, no days off unless they are literally on deaths door 🤣 and if my kids at 13 said to me they wanted to leave school I'd laugh and tell them it's not happening! Surely they should see how important education is? Even if they dont learn anything educational (say they just dont concentrate or listen) its getting up, getting ready, going and travelling to school and making friends and being around so many other people your age! I cant believe the parents just dont care
I hated school but would definitely stress the importance of it with my own. You're so right. There's more to school than just education. It's about life skills. It teaches you responsibility, being on time, getting homework in when it's due, making sure you have the right items for the day, social skills, how to work with people that you don't like. You can't just live your life in a bubble of your own family. Life isn't like that.

I cannot believe what I am hearing. I am one of the fated students meant to be taking their GCSEs this year and I am gutted that I won't have the opportunity to. Qualifications can open so many doors and opportunities!

Regardless of whether you're self-employed or not, you should aim for qualifications! They are what help to set you apart from the competition. YouTube won't last forever and Mia will eventually have to face the 'real world'. I could see her as being a successful travel journalist, or even an air-hostess? Both of which qualifications are needed for.

I am not against homeschooling, but I am against doing nothing. Education is so, so valuable. We are fortunate enough to have free access to it, unlike many children in third-world countries. Georgie has spoken out against her experiences in a cult-like atmosphere as a child, yet she is putting her children through a similar ordeal.

Exactly, for Mia’s birthday she donated to the Malala fund, to help get girls in countries which otherwise deny them an education, the opportunity to go to school. Yet Mia is not taking advantage of the education she is being offered. For years now they’ve acted like this extremely kind and giving family, trying to give back what they already have, but instead all we see is them promoting kids not caring about school and just using YouTube as a career. I was gutted when I found out my A levels were cancelled as I didn’t put much work in for mocks, and also have no idea what to do now I’ve left school but now all work experience has been cancelled. I can’t even decide on a university cause to help me get a job at 18, how on Earth does Mia think she knows what she wants to do at 15. Her parents are really stunting her and I can see Sienna going the same way.

It makes me so sad and worried for Mia (and Sienna) that they're not getting an education. I missed the majority of my school years due to illness and long hospital stays, and when I was well enough I had a tutor home school me. I managed to get my maths and english GCSE's but I have struggled to get ANY job because of my lack of education. I'm intelligent and once people meet me I am offered opportunities, but sadly that's not how most job applications work. Qualifications are so so important.
Also there is just so much general knowledge that you miss out on by not going to school. As an adult (I'm 26 now) I have taught myself some history, science, geography etc, but I'm often aware that I just don't know things that almost everybody else in my life does.

The fact the girls have no social life or friends is the saddest part. I can't imagine being fit and well and able to go to school, make friends, etc, but not have the opportunity because.. well, because their parents said so?? It's so unfair and there is no way that their social skills won't be affected. When I was 17 I started college and I really didn't know how to be a teenager. I HAD friends and was able to socialise even whilst sick, but it was still a difficult adjustment to have a more "normal" life.

I think Georgie and Darren have lost sight of what is important, but it is not too late to get back on track, and the sooner they do it, the easier it'll be for the girls. Plus if the kids went to school, that would make them far more relatable to their audience. It's win-win, honestly.

I'm in the same position with A Levels being cancelled, but even though we never sat the exams I don't think anyone would say Sixth Form was all for nothing. I had the opportunity to learn so much stuff that I'm interested in, to do extra curricular activities, to gain experiences in things like public speaking, to even travel to two countries I've never been to before and most of all I had so much fun with my friends. And so many other things as well. Yet Family Fizz think school is only about exams. Even if I got no qualifications at the end of this I would not at all have said it was a waste of time. They're just manipulating their children into thinking there's nothing to school but exams which are "only for people who work for other people", and now Mia believes that's the only thing about school. She has no idea what happens in schools or what its like to be in one.
I've noticed, especially recently, that she doesn't seem very happy. Youtubers have two lives usually, the lives they show online and their offline lives. But family fizz have made their lives about youtube so much that they don't really have offline lives- mia doesnt have friends, she doesnt do stuff thats not for her channel, or even have any work/projects (relating to homeschool) that arent for her channel. It's so sad to isolate mia like this, and to be fair i dont think it should be allowed.

This is so true! I notice it when the rest of the family are doing things together without Mia - the kids playing in the garden with Darren and Georgie playing with them for example. Georgie will always say that Mia is busy doing 'teenage things' in her room but I can't imagine what she has to be doing. Most teens are going out with friends, doing sports or extra curriculars, or if they're at home messaging/video chatting with their friends. Mia's only hobby seems to be working on her book/colouring book! A good work ethic but not a full life.
In one of her recent videos she and Sienna spent the day in each others rooms - Sienna had a great time playing dress-up with Mia's clothes, drawing, building a fort, while Mia was completely bored and kept on leaving the room to see what Sienna was doing. Gives me hope that Sienna will keep her interests and hobbies as she gets older.

I just csnt understand why as parents they wouldn't want their children to grab every possible opportunity to excel in life?

I do wonder what they would do if one of their kids actually wanted to go to school? Sienna seems like she'd really thrive at school but she doesn't know what it's even like to know whether she wants to go or not. They don't do any hobbies either that with other kids who do have normal lives. They literally socialise with each other. It's just really bizarre. I wonder what will happen with the girls are older, especially when they're near on adults. It could end up being the same situation that Georgie is in with her family (as in she doesn't see them) but it's her own kids who don't want anything to do with her.

Sienna actually loved going to school in Gran Canaria, and in England she chose to continue going to school when Mia decided to do home school. I think she went to a school for a few days in dubai when they first moved but it seems that now she's just being home schooled, which is sad considering she actually wanted to go to school. Unfortunately, she would struggle a lot going into a school now because she's so behind, as we saw in one of the videos she doesn't even seem to have a basic grasp on phonetics and the alphabet. I still think it would be best for her to go back though so she can get the educational support she needs.

That's so sad. Why was she being homeschooled if she liked it? That's the problem, if she went back now she'd likely have to be in a special support unit cause she's so behind compared to her peers.

I did wonder if part of the reason school in Dubai did not work out was because she was behind.

To be honest I stopped watching for a bit shortly after Karma was born but I guess they arrived in Dubai when she was supposed to be in Year 3. Also, I assume it was an international school (private) so their Year 3 and I can’t remember exactly but I think I remember Georgie and Darren talking about choosing the school in Brighton for being quite play based? Or maybe I am thinking of Mia’s alternative school?

I think a play based KS1 can be great and I am sure Sienna would have done well and thrived in most school settings but the jump from that to KS2 in a (private) international school that is probably more results driven would have been hard especially as we see from her reading and writing now that she has never met Year 2 expectations.

Probably because they believe she is excelling at youtube...which obviously she is, hitting 1 million, but as we all say, youtube won't last forever and they're only thinking about short term, not long term goals. I feel like that Mia's success and the family youtube channel and rise to 'fame' will be what gets her a job in the future, without any qualifications, but unfortunately jobs don't really work like that.
Also has anyone noticed Mia copying the likes of saffron and ana...im talking same video content, same video editing style that Ana does?

My daughter used to watch this family - she was 7 at the time. She liked Mia lol. I stopped her when the bra-shopping and periods vids came out. She's now, sadly, moved on to Familia Diamond and bloody Sav & Cole.
Yes I stopped my daughter watching when these kind of vlogs came out too. I think it was one when Mia was explaining inserting a tampon or something.

Wow familia diamond & Sav & Cole. Not sure which is the lesser of two evils.
Both families Along with most other family vloggers exploiting their kids for money,

I've just read back a couple of pages and not seen a reference to it. Have they moved AGAIN? Are they being asked to leave the properties they are in or are they just renting them for a month or two? There's no stability for the children, no way to make friends (not they they usually do anyway) and living out of suitcases is no fun for anyone. Plus, didn't they say they had to give their apartment up in Dubai due to them not being able to get back over there after the latest birth.

Also - sidenote - why come all the way back to the UK for a "home birth"? Why not just utilise services in Dubai and not get caught up in any coronavirus travel issues?!?!

Something dodgy is going on with all this moving around.

Especially at the age Mia is now she needs to be able to socialise and meet friends etc (obviously once lockdowns and stuff are over) , she isn't a child anymore and she seems kind of down , she can put on the smile etc but she needs the chance to be normal again, I don't leave the house much or have many friends but would still go insane if I couldn't even go to school etc, she needs some normality in her life before she gets even more caught up in this 'YouTube life', yes she has a comfortable life but idk if it's a happy one now.

They wanted a home birth so the girls could witness again, and dubai they dont allow home births, so they came back and obviously were going back when koa was around 1 or 2 months old

They moved from the first house they were in when they got back to the UK (the on that Koa was born in) and are now in a house in the countryside somewhere - not sure if they were briefly in another house in between the two?
I agree, it is sad seeing all their clothes kept folded in their suitcases in their wardrobes - its almost like they're ready to run at a moments notice! :ROFLMAO: I do feel sad for them about their Dubai apartment and wonder if they had someone pack up their stuff and furniture from that apartment for storage or if it was another case of them "recycling" and disposing of all their belongings because they left the country. Very wasteful.
The moving around is due to the properties are mostly air BnBs - the longest stay they can get is for a month or two. When they do rent places like their Dubai apartment and the old Brighton house that Karma was born in they only do 6 month leases (as mentioned in a video by Darren) so that they have the 'freedom' to either decide to leave the area after that or renew the lease/find a new place.

Ok, after this happened the first time, they should have called the doctor, they put their childs life endanger. Google is not a suitable doctor, they would probably eat lemons to cure cancer. People like this make me extremely nervous like what if one of them gets covid 19? Also, I am almost positive that Koa is not vaccinated because they would have for sure vlogged it. If anyone knows if they are vaccinated or not, please tell me.
