Given the kids are the 💰 in the family like all family bloggers you would think they would use that new wealth to support their education. I have no issue with home/online schooling if it is actually going somewhere.

You can’t get anywhere without basic GCSE English And maths so to not even do those is neglect.

At least the Inghams pay for private school (even if they are never there 😂)

Anyone else surprised at the sudden surge of "here's my dad" videos? I don't know what changed. Even when she did dad-based videos before it was like "hey here's my stepdad Darren". I have no problem with it, obviously it's what they're both comfortable with. Just surprising considering she just made a Q&A or assumptions video like 3 weeks saying she calls him Darren, not dad. So yeah, just a bit random. Also clearly her viewers don't know what's happening cause they're like "did your dad have acne too". I don't think it works like that with your stepdad!

And the amount of times she’s been asked about a boyfriend - she doesn’t have any friends or know anyone her age!?

None of the kids have any friends outside the family whatsoever. When I was Mias age I was going to town every weekend or round to friends houses and going to house parties. It was alright when they were in Brighton because I remember in her early videos she had a few friends she went to town with but even then that was it.
I mean its not like they go to any sports or music clubs, they don't socialise with other families who have kids of a similar age. Obviously they don't go to school where you make friends.
I mean that surely is going to impact on social skills, particularly the younger ones?

Right?? She doesn't even have contact with anyone.... and really these kids are looking for someone they can relate to. Give Mia a boyfriend and suddenly they're like "NO! I need one too!"

Sidenote, how the hell is a dad supposed to "feel" when his daughter gets her period? Why do you need to tell your dad about tampons? How could Darren remember his fears from puberty? Are these questions from 11-year-olds or something? LOL

I wish they would see it as "we want to give our kids any and all opportunities, and we think school could open doors for them in some ways", vs the ways they see it now. Fact is, it's about who you know, about networking as well. If they can't learn the ins and outs of making new friends or expanding their bubble beyond what they know now, they won't be successful in the future. (Maybe they'll have money because of youtube but that will only last so long..)

We have a friend who was by profession a primary school teacher, she has 4 boys and home educates all of her kids untill senior school entery! She works within her scope of training, but now due to lockdown has stepped up to educating her 2 eldest children (as schools have closed due to covid). Her children have entered senior school with no educational disavantages to other peers - even a bit ahead of other class members. She is now working hard to help the older 2 with the essential work provided from senior school whilst continuing with her lesson plans for the younger 2. She has home ed down to a tee. Her kids will be fine. Those 4 kids in family fizz however are getting so little in the way of education! I worry for their future.

Going with what other have said on here, I understand further/higher education isn't for everyone but it seems rather unfair that they've essentially shut that path for her when she still hasn't figured out what she wants her long term plans to be. Even if she finds a dream career years on, she's at a major disadvantage if it needs any kind of specialist qualification because she doesn't even met basic requirements for most courses or jobs so will require a lot of catch-up at her own expense - and that's just if she wants a job by choice, not if she's in a position where she needs one.

Even just not attending high school imo means that they're missing out on exploring what things interest them. Granted, there's always subjects you don't like but almost every one of my friends found or developed some kind of passion at school (acting, art, creative writing, filmmaking, photography, playing an instrument) and most of us still do that thing now. Even subjects that weren't my top choice or I didn't continue still taught me some valuable skills (even if it was just how to deal with terrible superiors/colleagues) 🤷 I just do not understand why you'd want to discourage your child from learning... well, anything

watch what darren says from 2:05. I disagree completely with it.
First of all, it's not true. Both of my parents have their own businesses, and they both have university degrees specific to their field. If they didn't have these degrees it would be impossible for them to get work because people wouldn't trust their capabilities.
Second of all, what Darren says in this video is almost word for word what Mia said in the Q&A video, which just shows that the parents are indoctrinating these kids with sound bite phrases like "you only need exams if you're going to work for someone else." The fact that it's not true is just them manipulating and lying to their kids. It's like they don't even live in the real world.
Thirdly, I absolutely cannot believe how they speak about "working for someone else" as if it's not respectable, and a worse way of life than being self employed. It's like they're looking down on people. Many many people in this country do not have a choice whether they work for someone else, they just take any job they can get so they get money to support their families. Very few people can just get lucky on youtube. And Mia, aged 15, already thinks she's above the whole "working for other people" idea. I was shocked how she was so certain as she said "I don't need GCSEs because I'm not working for someone else"- it's so arrogant and privileged of her to assume that she is going to go straight into a high salary youtube career for the rest of her life. She already thinks she's better than people who aren't self-employed. She has no idea what will happen- their whole channel could get demonetised for some reason in the future. I can't say I blame her entirely for coming across as so arrogant when she's so clearly been indoctrinated, but it's clear this family 1) think they're somehow better than "normal" people in society and 2) have no awareness of people in a less fortunate position than them. I remember when they did a video that was them eating food from poundland for 24 hours, and all they did was complain how disgusting it was for the whole video. I think it's been taken down due to the backlash they received. They didn't even consider for one second that there are people who can only afford to eat poundland food, and that it's guaranteed some kids watching that video come from families that are in that position. I'm so sick of the fact that they're so privileged and they think being youtubers makes them exempt from society.
Have Darren and Georgie ever had a real job? I remember them saying they were on benefits before Gran Canaria. Obviously I am not one of those people that go round accusing people on benefits as being unwilling to get a job. I wholeheartedly believe that nearly everyone on benefits would want a job if they could, and I think it's right that the government support people who can't. But if Darren and Georgie were so opposed to working for other people even back in the Gran Canaria days... it begs the question as to whether they even tried to get a job when they were on benefits, or whether they refused to get jobs where they were working for other people. I really do hope that's not the case, but you can see why it's possible.
That family have sugarcoated not giving their kids an education as an "alternative lifestyle" and that they "don't need an education like everyone else" (reeks of privilege). In reality, Sienna can barely read, and she sure as hell can't spell (I'm remembering that video where she and mia had to write stuff down in that game thing). These children are going to be seriously disadvantaged. Do they really expect all four kids to grow up and become youtubers for the rest of their lives? Their channel will probably be dead before Koa is 5. They are deluded, just because they have forged an "alternative career pathway" by having a youtube channel, they assume that they are better than everyone else and Mia thinks that she is in a better position than anyone her own age. The sense of privilege and superiority coming from that family is unreal.

100% agree with all that you've said - spot on.

I'm not sure that they ever have had a real job - while they've both got online personal trainer qualifications I think they did that free-lance/independently from any gym - their beginnings on youtube were as a fitness channel. Georgie wouldn't have had much time for working having Mia so young and then going on to do further university(?) studies while it was just the two of them - funny considering her views on education now. While they were on benefits/when Mia was young Darren would make money from buying and selling on Amazon (very dodgy in my opinion - wonder if they declared it as income?). Not sure of his history before that though. No "real" jobs though - both have been working for themselves from the start.

Georgie did university studies? That really is surprising as you say when you think about their attitude towards education now. Buying and selling from Amazon seems to be a way of making money tax free- I think it's been clamped down on here in the UK.

Yep - she talked about it in one of her '16 and pregnant/teen mum' videos. I think she did an English degree and said that at the time it was very important to her to have achieved that. Very conflicting to her attitude towards education now! Ah, I thought it would have been something like that - now that they've clamped down on it he can't go back when their youtube career dies down.

I left school at 13, never went back until I was 17 but I was studying with a bunch of people much older then me, my biggest regret is leaving school and now I have children I am so strict with them going to school, no days off unless they are literally on deaths door 🤣 and if my kids at 13 said to me they wanted to leave school I'd laugh and tell them it's not happening! Surely they should see how important education is? Even if they dont learn anything educational (say they just dont concentrate or listen) its getting up, getting ready, going and travelling to school and making friends and being around so many other people your age! I cant believe the parents just dont care

This may be unnecessary but does anyone else find it uncomfortable that Mia has suddenly started calling Darren dad out of like nowhere especially when she literally said last week about calling him Darren. Is mias dad really now out the picture especially the way she acted when asked about him in the assumptions video.

she’s always referred to him as her ‘dad’ but when she talks to him she calls him Darren if that makes sense.

Does anyone else find Mia's outfit videos on Instagram don't quite hit the mark? She gives too much time to each outfit during which she is hardly moving or showing it off. Others that I have seen will point out the features of the outfits and move around to show them off/show what you can do in them but Mia just looks down at the floor then into the camera a few times and sticks out her tongue... I find them kinda awkward to watch and am shocked that she hasn't improved them much from her first ones years ago - same poses, same looking up and down, even the same transitions.

Does anyone else think it’s a little weird that Mia hit 1 million subscribers over a week ago but it hasn’t been addressed either on her channel or the main channel. When family fizz reached 1 million they had mercy and really were excited about it, but now they don’t even acknowledge Mia’s achievement. Her recent video is just another eating food in a certain colour video, no reference to her hitting quite a high subscriber milestone. Also, I recently unsubscribed from Mia’s and family’s channel because their content just became so fake and the weird voice distortion they’ve started doing really annoys me. All Mia’s doing is bringing out another colouring book and all family fizz care about is selling merch, they might as well just stop making boring videos and just turn their channels into advertising platforms, because that is all they are. Furthermore, in Mia’s video she gets super hyper and giddy from 1 energy drink. She’s 15, every morning since I was 11 I’ve had coffee for breakfast and not once has it made me hyper, I get it different people react differently but seriously, even in the evening she was still acting weird. I feel like her parents are not allowing her to interact with others her age, meaning she doesn’t know how to act as the only people she talks to are her parents who are in their 30s or siblings who are all under 10. (I don’t want to offend, this is just my opinion based on observation, obviously I don’t know what actually goes on in their lives).

Especially at that age! Someone to tell secrets to, crushes on boys, advice about boys, someone to have sleepovers with and go shopping with 😭
