False Report to Police

Had a visit from 2 police officer's Sunday night.!



They had received a report, anonymously, that I had a 3 year old in the house and they were concerned for the welfare!
I allowed police to check rooms etc, and told them I have no children here, they asked if I ever have children staying, which i don't, and that I don't have children myself.
They then asked if anyone has a grudge against me, which I don't think anyone had?
Then I realised, its a lady who stays in the town, who is known for making false accusations etc against anybody and anyone that she chooses, that could have been behind this! She's been at court many many times in the past, for some actual serious accusations, all completely unfounded at the time, other times she seems to get away with it, due to mental health and alcohol issues.
I just can't understand how a person can be allowed at all, to make false accusations and harass people on a regular basis, and it is a regular occurrence, and no action is taken against them!
She's also known just to start on you for no apparent reason when walking anywhere near her in the street!
Really don't know what can be done as others I've spoken to, agree that something really needs to be done.

That sounds like a horrible experience, I'm so sorry!

I think you can file a complaint? At least here in Germany it is punishable to make up allegations like that and it seems like she already has a track record....
(We have had a false attempted grape claim a couple of years ago in our sports team - person who claimed this had to pay a fine and something else. Put the fear of God into them as well, as this is so harmful for actual victims. Got a very severe talking to from the police)

I think the issue is what can really be done about this and the answer is nothing in the long run. Can she be arrested and jailed sure, but when released she'll probably start doing it all over again.
She clearly gets some sort of kick out of it and unfortunately the police have a duty of care to follow up on allegations even coming from the town liar.
