Id love to get married but I don't think my oh is too fussed. If we do get married I only want a tiny wedding as hate attention.

I also want to choose my own ring! Does that sound ungrateful?!

If/when we do get married, I'm wearing black.

Proposed to while sitting in the car in the euro tunnel and whilst I was over the moon I thought he could have waited until we were driving thru the beautifully scenic pyrenees🤷‍♀️

We got married just us with immediate family and went for a meal at a hotel in kensington. The following saturday we had a reception for extended family and friends so I got to wear my wedding dress twice which I was delighted about. We honeymooned on the amalfi coast. I had my first child exactly 9 months from our wedding night.

I've mentioned it here before, but a friend of mine used to go out with a guy when she was at uni. They were never that serious but they were on and off together for a few years.

Fast forward about ten years later when she she married his brother. Not just any old brother, but his IDENTICAL twin!
As if that wasn't bad enough, her Dad got a bit confused during his speech and said the WRONG brother's name 😲

Not engaged yet. Me and my boyfriend (of 2 years) had a discussion about marriage and all that kinda stuff and I told him that I'd like to wait another year to get engaged (I'm 28 now for reference). We're planning a big holiday for my 30th birthday, I'm secretly hoping he would propose on that trip, but who knows what the future holds.

I also want to choose my own ring! Does that sound ungrateful?!
I'd probably choose my ring too lol, or at least show him one or two I like to provide him with an idea. I know some people feel this is controlling or whatever, but I think my man already told me he'd prefer some heavy hinting about rings because he wouldn't know where to start 🤣 gotta love a man with self-awareness

No fancy engagement for us. We talked about it in bed and then both asked each other and that was that. He surprised me with an engagement ring one evening when I was poorly with what I thought was a stomach flu. It turned out I was actually pregnant with our firstborn.

We secretly married in Las Vegas whilst abroad for my 30th birthday. Didn’t tell anyone until we came home.

That’s what everyone says but the problem is I don’t want kids before getting married! So we’re in a catch 22, I won’t get married without kids, but he doesn’t want to get married 😅 and...this might sound harsh but I don’t want to give into what he wants, give him children without getting married then resent him for the rest of my life that he got what he wanted (kids) but I didn’t get what I wanted and I realise that sound very childish and petty but I can’t deny it anymore it’s how I feel 🥺
I don’t think that’s childish and petty at all. I think you should stand your ground. You’re not a baby making machine, you’re a woman who deserve the things she desires which in this case is a bond and lifetime commitment!

Been with my partner 7 years, still no engagement ring 🙁. Marriage is really important to me because I just wouldn’t have children outside of marriage and he knows that (no judgement on people who do, just my choice). I am a bit fed up of waiting as I feel like my life is on hold whilst I wait but I know if I keep going on about it he will just make me wait longer, he’ll do it when the time is right I guess

I was proposed to on the Rialto Bridge on a surprise trip to Venice. I didn't even know where we were going until we got to the airport.

I think if you’re the one wearing it- you should get to pick! I’d want something vintage and quirky- my friend had a beautiful antique opal!

I’ve never been in a proper relationship so this is all very alien to me- but I would love to get engaged in Italy and then elope! I’d take my twin sister as my witness. Let’s just assume this mystery person has a private jet so we can fly her out- then I’d like to honeymoon on the trains around Europe.

I was proposed to in Las Vegas on Christmas Eve. I picked out my ring - it is a piece of jewellery you'll wear a lot so you want it to be something you definitely like! I think too many people want the romance of a "surprise" but I always think a proposal should never been too much of a surprise, surely its something you're expecting to happen if you have good communication with your partner?

As for my wedding ... The whole thing tbh made me realise how much I don't like weddings. I desperately wanted to elope but my husband was too nervous of what his family would say - our compromise was a small (around 30 people) local wedding and I still didn't really like it, I was far too anxious. I wouldn't do the same wedding day again. I'm really glad we kept our spending minimal since I didn't particularly enjoy it!
