Yeah I was thinking about that too! I’ve got myself a bit worked up about it tbh and cross with myself for not having lost much weight.I w
i would guess its more of the question of the aethestic (can’t spell that!) to knock you out rather than the procedure itself. I was told (bmi of 30) that I’m at slightly higher risk than the “normal” (ugh) BMI relevant to me…
Mefenamic acid (Ponstan) worked for me....Can anyone recommend anything stronger painkiller wise from my doc? I’m on holiday and should be on the beach currently lay in bed in tears in absolute agony (came on yesterday). I take paracetamol, up to 8 x 30mg codeine per day, and 500mg naproxen. None of it is working. I’ve taken about 10 codeine already today
Oh I really do feel for you. I take all of the above, and once it no longer helped at the worst times then my GP prescribed me Shortec, which contains Oxycodone so is stronger than codeine. I only take it at the very worst times but it is the only medication I’ve tried so far which knocks the pain on the head when it’s at labour contractions type of level. Obv I don’t also take codeine with this! Can anyone recommend anything stronger painkiller wise from my doc? Thank you I’ll ask about that xx I know I’ve been on it for 5 years now to help with other stomach issues I have and stop meMefenamic acid (Ponstan) worked for me....
that's a helluva lot of codeine to be taking, you'll be terribly constipated and codeine is not always best for painful periods and if you have endometriosis , constipation can make symptoms worse
you might also try heat pads which adhere to your skin
Thank you I’ll defo ask about that. Rubbish isn’t it, I’m tanorexic so leaving the sunshine early it must be bad lol. I’ve seen online a few people use TENS machines, going to order one xxOh I really do feel for you. I also use a TENS machine which helps, if you use it early enough when the pain starts, in conjunction with medication.
Sending you a big hug, the pain is bad enough but on holiday when you should be relaxing, it’s even worse.
I remember being really bloated after laparoscopy, I was super skinny at the time and my belly was like a football but I don’t really remember for how long. Maybe a castor oil pack could help?Hi everyone, I posted a while back that I was due surgery to remove an endometrioma from within my caesarean scar tissue.
That was 8 weeks ago now, they managed to get it all out, despite saying it was a ‘large area’ (no shit Sherlock, that’s what I’ve been telling you all) and put a mirena coil in at the same time.
Recovery was slow, almost like having another caesarean! Waking up the next morning wasn’t pleasant, I had swollen to the size of the michelin man, and couldn’t walk.
Pain does seem to have decreased, but I do still get the odd pain in the area that is reminiscent of the pain I had when the endometrioma was in situ. Which does worry me a little bit
I’m struggling though with the remaining swelling around my middle. I’m not sure if it’s the coil, or still recovering from the surgery, or I’ve just got fat (maybe all three!). But I was wondering if anyone could share if they were bloated after surgery, and did it ever go down?!
It’s really getting me down, I do have history of ED, and body dysmorphia. Thank you for reading
Thank you for your reply. It’s really taken me aback how bloated/swollen I am. Terrible timing with better weather. It has gone down a bit, but I can feel I still have quite a bit of internal bruising and swelling. Similar to you, I’m slim, so can really feel the difference! Thank you for the recommendation of a castor oil pack, I will look into thisI remember being really bloated after laparoscopy, I was super skinny at the time and my belly was like a football but I don’t really remember for how long. Thank you, I’m trying not to. I just feel very low about myself. I know I’m not fully recovered, so I can blame a bit of how I’m feeling and looking on that. Bloody hell, I feel like my body looks like it’s had a baby again!8 weeks is early, try not to put too much pressure on yourself
