Random... but I have dry skin naturally anyway, however my forehead is more troublesome. I moisturise daily with CeraVe but the minute I put my foundation on, within about an hour or so (sometimes as I’m actually putting it on) my skin begins to flake.

has anyone ever experienced anything like this and found a great moisturiser or remedy? I use Clinique Even Better foundation and wonder if that’s contributing to it.. but I know nothing about water/oil based products etc

I’d love to show a picture of what my skin looks like sometimes on my forehead to find out if we have the same problem (different foundations though I swap between the Ordinary serum foundation and urban decay 24hr depending on the occasion) and if I forget to exfoliate I will be in trouble with my skin no matter what I do. So I exfoliate with the ordinary glycolic toner and that does the job 9 times out of 10.

I’ll see if I can grab a pic tomorrow after I’ve done my make up. I have exfoliated tonight so may not pick it up on camera but will try! Be interesting to see if we both suffer the same annoyance! I might give the ordinary a try.. never used it before but everyone seems to recommend their stuff

Maybe try going without foundation for a while? Or try something with a different consistency like a cream to powder foundation?

I had extremely dry skin on my chin and mouth area due to cream I was using for acne. I mean to the point my skin would be flaking off after an hour of make up on. I started using this cream and it’s made such a difference!!! I lagger it on the areas I have problems with at night and haven’t had it again. Not sure if this is the same one you’ve used but I did use a cerave one before and it wasn’t good. This one I buy specially has “baume hydratant” whatever that means🤣

Try adding an oil to your moisturiser for extra hydration! I swear by The Ordinary Squalane oil it’s literally £5. I had a really bad skin time recently when my forehead inparticular was dry and tight and almost looked scaly with make up on. A week or so of using the oil with my moisturiser has sorted it out

Haha “baume hydratant” is just moisturising cream in French - what it says above :ROFLMAO: I also get dry skin weirdly around my eyes and cheeks more than forehead. Do you find the cerave blocks your pores? I’m in a constant battle between dry skin and oily spotty skin!

No not at all! I was so worried about that but I always make sure all my face products are non comedogenic so they don’t block my pores. The first time I used it it was exactly what my skin was needing and it felt so nice! Started off only using it at night but now I use it during the day too. Can be a little bit oily around my nose but I really don’t mind as I can just put a wee bit powder on!

this is it in the tub version and if you scroll down it’ll say non comedogenic! ☺

Bobbi brown face base is like a moisturising primer and amazing for under make up, I have terrible dry skin around my T zone and this helps loads for makeup application

I did my makeup this morning and it was so bad on my forehead so I wiped it off, put a good amount of Embroylisse lait creme (I think thats the name of it) on my forehead and the did my foundation again and it was pretty much fine 😅

I get a really dry nose and my foundation really bunches up on it... The night before I usually do the following:

Start with either this peel thing https://vitamasques.com/products/ro...6JMnY9hekSQ01U2OKzo3pjLYHIJZq9NQaAljmEALw_wcB or this sugar scrub https://www.superdrug.com/Skin/Face...uPeOxNNnPRCZ0Q-EKqEaArFTEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Then I put loooooooads of moisturiser on (I have a few but usually use an ESPA one

Then when I’m doing my make up I use this primer https://www.lookfantastic.com/illamasqua-hydra-veil-primer-30ml/11264666.html

I also use this foundation if it helps but I don’t think this makes a difference cause it bunches up if I don’t do the above anyway https://www.elfcosmetics.co.uk/flaw...XoJHwdlHZvkmag7rvGMaAoj_EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
