Katz suggesting Ireland, Spain and Norway to take the displaced.

The Israelis are going to leverage this fool for as much as they can get away with.

Do you think any will take up the offer? There’s bound to be those that are bored with the oppressive Hamas regime and want to move on.It’s moving into the unknown that would put people off more than the love of the country imo.

He’s having a laugh at the Irish government’s expense. They should open up Vatican City 🇻🇦 plenty of room and wealth.

A forced eviction?
I think some Palestinians may take up the offer, they are ground down, between a rock and a hard place.
The question is why? Why should they have to leave-erasing all trace of Palestinians in Palestine.
The birthplace of Christ...with no Christians?

There’s a time when a life of resistance becomes boring, where education and opportunities are more appealing than waking up to nothingness .

Exactly
Even if some Palestinians do decide to take up the offer and move on, there’s a huge difference between relocating and seeing your homeland wiped off the map.

Maybe. But they’re resisting ethnic cleansing and the complete obliteration of their homeland. I doubt they think that’s nothing.

I think it's the simple idea of someone coming to your house, taking over, forcing you to leave...the generation trauma that has instilled the 'value' of the land.
Like you say, how long do you fight and stay when it's been futile so far?
It is a difficult decision that I can't even imagine having to make.

You can also become immune to the suffering and violence and want to move beyond, that piece of land has has seen out many lives and will continue to do so long after we’re gone, there has to be a beginning of an end sometime.

I live in Ireland. We are not on the verge of civil war, neither are we bursting. We do have a lack of housing which needs to be addressed by a cohesive public / private plan.

Ireland’s population is only back at pre famine levels (back to 1840 levels) so our population density is still quite low compared to other countries and definitely not bursting. We have a slightly different age demographic to other countries too.

Ireland as a country that was long controlled by its neighbour and stepped on and treated like lesser people , can understand and empathise with Palestine, the Israel government have tried to frame that as antisemitism when it is nothing of the sort (I have huge sympathy for what Jewish people have endured) Trump is far too stupid to understand that criticism is not antisemitic and will use it to hammer Ireland’s regime as he will look at our balance of payments.

No healthcare, school places, nursery provision… Pre famine people were living in stone hovels in the middle of fields how many want that as a way of life 🙄 the storm damage is enough to show, absolutely nobody ! Where would they put 2.5 million Palestinians?

Ireland took hundreds of years and many revolutions to achieve independence. People don’t give up their ancestral home and identity because it doesn’t suit their ‘overlords’

I live in Munster, healthcare, school places and nursery places aplenty.

The storm was the worst in 50 years. In Munster we had power back the same day it passed.
I feel sorry for the poor people who are without power but it looks like miles of trees came down. Luckily our European neighbours came to help

You must be one of the lucky states the rest of the island is well overpopulated, 85,000 on the homeless list in the north 30 yr backlogs in healthcare…

The Irish population density is 72 people per km2, the U.K. is 277 people per km2 , the Netherlands is 425 people per km2, so I think we have room for a few more.

The population of the north and south are quite different due to the plantation policy. I’m all in favour of peace and following the Good Friday peace process and looking at a referendum in the future if required.

Trump thinks he is coming across as a maverick but to most he’s just coming across as nuts.
I can’t imagine him passing a competency test.
I watched his press secretary yesterday, I was hoping to find out more about his ''interesting'' (crazy) plans for Palestine, instead I watched an American version of ''Cunk does a press briefing'' His Press secretary is ...hopeless.....
I was particularly struck, by her Bleating on about the Palestinians returning to a land without water on tap......I agree its appalling, but what about sending a few more american support staff and finances to turn it back on again!

And re Palestinians emigrating to other countries..... no idea if some may or may not want to, but I thought it was difficult for Palestinians to get exit visas /settlement visas for other countries? Im sure I read an article saying this a few years ago, before this current war?

Although I am also waiting for President Trump, to follow up on his concern for the bombed out area of Gaza, by offering free settlement and US immigration , all expenses paid of course, to all the 2 million Palestinians he thinks need a new home.
