He’s in the CUH and works in general surgery(think breast too) as far as I’m aware. Pretty sure he’s not plastics and not the Bons definitely

Really? Pretty sure he's a surgeon on the Bons in Cork specialising in endocrine and breast oncology plus a few more

Her latest post infuriated me. "A lot of women take 3 month breaks...". P

eople won't bother going to their own GP and will just go ahead and start doing that because she has said that. She's actually f**** shocking.

Yea the post about the pill is dangerous also. Of course the break is correct but she’s also said the pill can be used to treat PCOS and I see someone sharing that excited. I’ve made no secret here that we are having ivf for baby no 3 🤞🏼 At moment and I have PCOS. When I was put on the pill for it, I bled so bad for 10 day’s j had to be hospitalised & my iron dropped dangerously to 6 over a week or so. It doesn’t work for everyone & I can’t understand how Instagram/medical council aren’t regulated enough to see the danger ?

Blows my mind. I take the pill for 3 consecutive months as advised by my gyno.. but there are reasons why you shouldn't go longer without a break... the advice in general may have changed but sorry..a little disclaimer saying talk to your own GP isn't good enough. You could see from that post that people are prepared to just follow what she has said..also...she simply is qualified to be doling this advice out to the general public..a little knowledge and all that.. it's shocking there are folk so prepared to follow the advice of a doctor qualified a few short months with no experience who is just concentrating on her online persona 🤯

I hope you are sound ok and best of luck on your IVF journey . You will do great. The pill stops your body ovulating so you never get a true period and hence it doesn’t solve anything . Sometimes for severe cases it can aid for a short term gain ( excessive monthly blood loss ) but in the long term it switches off your body’s natural cycle . When I am fully qualified in 5000000 years time in gynae I would love to offer something in Ireland for women’s health that focus’s on root cause . She was not correct in what she said . Also I would love to address her spon con to the medical council Has to go against code of ethics
( it doesn’t take 50000 years to qualify just when you are 7 years in with 5 more to go can feel like that 😂😂🤣🤣🤣)

You are so kind. Thankfully ivf worked for us (after many rounds of iui and icsi) but this time it’s embryo transfer and getting me ready as opposed to 7 years ago even getting me to ovulating to have eggs etc. So even though it’s still hard - at least we have frozen embryos this time. But the pill was awful for me I was on a colour course in dublin at the time I was staying in the red cow, I had Been on the pill 2 weeks I’ll never forget it I stood up and felt a whoosh and I bled so heavy for a week-10days I was immediately sent to hospital when I got home to cork my iron went from 11 to 9 to 6 and I had to come off the pill straight away. It delayed ivf that time for maybe a further 8 months until my iron and system recovered. Her info is so dangerous I know so many will now adapt their pill procedure based on what she has advised.
