I'm married to my best friend, we have never even had an argument. People always seem really taken aback by that which is sad.
I think many people "settle" because they may feel pressure to from family or perhaps that's what they think is the normal thing to do...but so many people settle with the wrong person because of this.
I think those external issues you mention could have strains on a relationship but it wouldn't cause people to divorce unless the two people in that marriage couldn't work around it? It depends on the people. We are all so different and constantly growing and changing that no 2 relationships are the same.
I'm a big believer in trying to love yourself before loving somebody else and many of my relationships have failed due to me not caring for myself. If we all had some more self confidence and care for others with no outside influences I bet there'd be alot more successful marriages!
I swear people have forgotten how to have normal loving relationships since reality tv came about where everyone's cheating and being toxic
