Definitely need a lighter colour on the walls. Personally, I would go with a dusky pink or duck egg blue. Just an fyi I read yellow brings on headaches. I had a mellow yellow years ago in my living room and can confirm.

Good luck, let us know what you choose. I’d have a few green plants dotted around the room too, always helps to ‘lift’ the dark furniture.

I like it but agree maybe not with a brown sofa (make me think of those green sweets with chocolate in the middle) however if you bring in another colour it will balance I reckon, maybe a dark dusky pink or mustard with some pattern on it.

I like the green, it's giving me mid-century modern vibes along with the wood and the brown sofa. I'd maybe limit the paint to a feature wall if it is too dark, keep the rest light, add in a light coloured rug (which will help bounce light around too) and some brass accents or go neutral on the walls and add in green accents. Photo inspiration below.

This is exactly the look I was trying to go for!!
