I wouldn’t call it a controversy but an unfortunate situation thanks to a crazed, obsessive fan. He has since removed the related posts from his YT community section but I recall that Amy was being stalked/harassed on Facebook by a fan posing as a fake Jordan the Lion Facebook page or account in mid-2020. Not only was Amy being harassed but also her daughter (who was underage at the time) and I believe some members of her family as well. This led to the two breaking up and Amy felt that it was best that she was out of the picture. So, as I recall, it sounded as if Jordan got involved by getting either or both law enforcement and a private investigator to investigate this. They were able to identify the individual’s IP address (this lie that influencers spread explained here) where it was traced to (I believe it was in) West Virginia. I don’t think he said in detail what happened next and I recall him mentioning to his YT subscribers that this individual was known to have done similar things to other well-known YT vloggers. He and Amy got back together after this incident and then they broke up again, this time for good before he left California to Florida. I wasn’t a fan of Amy but I felt bad for what she had to go through, especially her daughter.
OMG if one person had the audacity to tell him the content of one of his vlogs wasn't very interesting for them, he'd take it SO personally. And if he went somewhere that didn't want him to film, the crybabying about it was epic. I remember him getting a taco or something and the woman serving him didn't want to be filmed and he just could not believe that someone didn't want to be on his amazing channel. Then he went to London and a museum wouldn't let him in - either it didn't want filming inside or he arrived just before it closed. I thought he was going to head to the American Embassy and lodge a formal complaint.
Yep, he was mad they let Anthony Bourdain film there but not him, the glorious Jordan the Lion.
He went to the Charles Dickens Museum and was furious they didn't let him join the last tour because he was too late.
