Was just coming to say the same. It’s so sweet how thankful Sophie was saying I love it so much thanks mum bless her. But then typical spoiled coco in the back “I wanted that, I want one” they’ve only themselves to blame
Hasnt Chloe just had her birthday and Christmas for that matter.

I didn't realise Sophie was as old as 11. I wonder what they'll do for senior school come September.

I’m guessing she’ll be placed in a special needs secondary? It’s scary to think she’s 11 already and ready for big school

I suspect it’ll be a special needs secondary. There’s no way she’d cope with a mainstream senior school.

I think Kaci put on a TT reply to someone she will live past her teens. Think it was in the last thread. I’ll scroll back and try find it x

That’s such good news. No matter who it is, nobody should go through the pain of losing a child x

Most special schools go right through from ages 3-19 so the children don’t have to deal with change. I’m not sure if Sophie already attends a special school?

I think she does attend one because of I remember correctly they said she attends a different primary school to the other girls

Maybe it was a brain tumour that left her with permanent brain damage?

Also a lot of the time children and grouped by needs rather than age aswell in special schools

I’m almost certain she’s at a mainstream primary school that has a very very good complex SEN unit. I can’t remember if there was a video her uniform was shown and someone commented, but I think that’s the case and her uniform hasn’t changed. I guess we’ll soon see as I‘m sure they’ll start cashing in on the fact shes going up to secondary if she does move.

Yeah I was of the same impression that Sophie goes to the same school as Chloe but that she has 1-1 classroom support...

I think it depends on needs. My son has a little girl in his class who has special needs and they have a senco in class all day with her. But she’s quite independent bless her. I guess as it goes into secondary they may decide due to her needs and learning difficulties she’ll do better in a special school

Sophie could not be in a mainstream school she can barely read and write. i remember on one of the birthday videos, Joel showed Sophie her cake with her name on it and he said to her "what does it say?". She said "cake"

You don’t have to read and write to be in mainstream. My niece is in mainstream with severe needs she just has an EHC and one to one support. Just because someone has special needs doesn’t mean they need to be in a special school.

My son is in mainstream and couldn't read/wrote until he was 10. He's now in a mainstream high school with an excellent senco base that he only attends for help with maths and English. Just because Sophie has special needs doesn't mean she can't attend mainstream

Ah I wasn’t sure if she was mainstream or not. I think it’s all down to parental preference as well. My son is non-verbal, and due to his needs I wanted him to go to a special school, and he’s absolutely thriving there. Sophie may be thriving in her mainstream school. I think mainstream is good for those children who can learn from others, so maybe they will choose a mainstream secondary but with a provision in place.

She’ll defo have an EHCP so whether mainstream or special she’ll get the help she needs

Quite an outdated view! Children like Sophie are now actively encouraged into mainstream settings at primary level, it’s secondary where the specialist input is needed as lots of it will include independent living as well as traditional subjects which obviously primary age doesn’t need. Being in a mainstream, will naturally help children with special need but then those children will reach their plateau of what they’re able to learn, it’s then they need the specialist input.
