Cycle changes due to vaccine?

Gooood Evening,

Just wondering if anyone has noticed any changes to when they come on their period since having the covid jab?

I am on the pill and have been for years and on my break week, without fail, come on my period the same day every time. The past few months I have been late. Has anyone experienced the same?

1st jab no changes
2nd jab about 3 or 4 days late. No real difference inbetween.
I was very sick in hospital a few years back and middle of my period and it completely stopped so I think people who have changes might just be because of the immune response. Your cycle will stop if your body has other priorities

Yes I posted about on it the vaccine thread at the time too. After my first AZ jab my period came really early and lasted for over 3 weeks. It was also extremely heavy. I reported it via the yellow card site. I really hope there won’t be any long term effects.

I’ve had Pfizer (only one vaccine and not having my second until August) and have found that I’ve had my periods every three weeks since I had the vaccine in June.

I’m trying not to worry about it because I’ve been the opposite too, where my cycle has been every 40 days (prior to the vaccine) and I didn’t dwell on it so me being every 21/22 days may just be a “thing” for at the moment. I have mentioned it to my GP though.

Just to add my first period after the vaccine was light and only lasted three days. My second period was heavier and lasted six days. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had the first Pfizer jab at the end of June. I’m on the pill and a few days after the jab I had some breakthrough bleeding which I’ve never had before. Then during my pill free week, my period was super light, barely there, which again is different from normal.

I’ve been skipping periods since I got my first dose (AZ) in January. They also seem to be more painful when they do come.

Thank you all for sharing! Seems like people being affected in all sorts of ways.

I totally agree about the periods being more heavy and painful. Sometimes it can be unbearable!

Can I ask what the yellow card site is, please?

After the 1st jab (AZ) I had a super painful period for 2 days. After the 2nd jab, my period came a week early and the following month was so painful I was in tears. I’ve been to the GP who prescribed strong pain relief based on my symptoms. It’s really stressing me as I’m normally good with pain but don’t know what expect from month to month.

I had Pfizer jab and after the 2nd one I came on my period early. It was heavier than usual and lasted for weeks. I didn’t even link it to the vaccine until I saw an Insta story on Cosmo uk saying women were reporting heavy bleeding after the vaccine.

This is exactly what happened to me. My second period had also been late but only by a day. The pain however has been awful and I’ve had to laze about for most of the day which is so unlike me. Hope your second one is better love!

My periods are more regular now that ever 😂

It's MHRA website for reporting adverse reactions to medications.
Ooo thank you for this! I will report my symptoms.

hope you’re feeling better honey!

Mines have been closer together (3 in the time that I would normally have 2). I was at my GP for something else and mentioned it and she said that they will return to normal and it’s just a side effect that has been reported. She did explain why it happens but it went right over my head 🤣. Anyway this months has came exactly when it should’ve so hopefully that’s me back on my usual cycle.
Edit to add- it was the Pfizer I had

I’ve had my first vaccine so far (Pfizer). My period is now over two weeks late. I’ve always had pretty regular periods! I’m ready to start trying for a baby so it’s really worrying me about having the second vaccine now.

I don't have periods anymore (hysterectomy due to hormone issues)

Can i ask as well as changes to periods have any of you noticed a change to your hormones too?
PMS, migraines etc

I'm terrified to have the jab because any hormone fluctuations cause me serious problems 😢

I suffer from migraines and have only really had 2 since I've been double vaccinated (march) however these were after I had the mirena coil inserted so it's most likely down to the coil. I honestly don't feel the jab has had any negative impact on me at all however I know others may disagree.
