Covid 19 - will you be booking trips/going out as things reopen?

I personally have booked a week down south camping for my wedding anniversary the week that campsites reopen. I am a key worker and have been under a lot of extreme pressure during this pandemic, I have stuck strictly to every rule and regulation, and in the weeks running up to lock down had stopped leaving my house aside from work before we were advised to do so. I have done as I am supposed to for so long now I don’t see why I shouldn’t take part in things that are being reopened as seen fit, especially activities that I do to mainly get away from busy places and others. I need some normality in my life before I seriously crack.
Will you be doing things you used to do as and when you used to? Or will you continue to stay indoors and comply with an unenforced lock down?
Stay safe everyone!

Admin please can this be deleted I didn’t even look at the covid thread and noticed this is a hot topic on there so no need to have its own thread!

I don’t think I will go abroad for a while due to the fact prices will go up and won’t be the same experience as we could class as a ‘normal’ holiday abroad. However, I will be going camping in Scotland as it’s so beautiful here and for ages I’ve said I want to see more of my country. As soon as they lift the restrictions on camping me and my boyfriend will be packing up the car. I mean how more isolated can you be out in the wild camping!

I don’t think I will be going to pubs/restaurants as soon as they open, or going clothes shopping. Again because I don’t want to get use to this ‘new normal’ I am hoping that things will go back to the usual normal maybe by next year IF they come up with any vaccine or treatment

As soon as things open, I shall be doing them and trying to get my “old life” back.

I feel like for a while I will only book things as close to the time as possible so I will know if it feels safe, I feel like it’s too soon to plan ahead as we are unsure if there may be another spike or lockdown. That being said I am desperate for a holiday and a day out somewhere.

We have a weekend in the Cotswolds booked for end of July. I plan to go, it’s a nice place and even if much isn’t open there’s a hot tub, and we can just relax in different scenery! The lady who ownes the property is taking new bookings to go from July 4th so guessing we will be ok

I’ve a week in Oct booked camping in Devon and we shall be going. I moved my July holiday to Easter though as the complex would be open but lots of the facilities closed so I didn’t want to end up sat in a caravan for a week trying to entertain my 4yo alone.
I will be brave and start venturing to shops with a mask though I think as we need to get used to life again plus would be horrible to see the high street suffer and close down through people staying away. We need to get the economy moving again sooner or later.

We won’t be going abroad this year on next year the prices are ridiculous and a lot of places have removed their free child places so there isn’t much choice! We’ll Proberly just holiday in the uk... I could still loose my job along with others so we will see! By the sounds of it social distancing is sometning we’re going to have to get use to for a long long time so I’d hate to book somewhere and not be able to leave my room or socialise

The place where I work (a hotel) is taking bookings from 4th July but their certain it won’t be open due to not been able to social distance, if yours is a cottage etc I’m sure it should be fine! A lot of big hotels won’t be reopening for a long time if the 2 metre distancing remains

Oh really! Ours is a house so hopefully be ok, really hope so!

We’ve decided we won’t go abroad this year but we will book a 2 week holiday over New Years and go somewhere hot. We will have to wait and see over the next month or two what happens before we book anything. Surely things will have relaxed by then?

We had New York booked for later in the year which we’ve cancelled the hotel for, we just need to change the flights when we can sort our holidays at work. I’ve booked 4 nights in a lodge here in the summer holidays (They confirmed we can get a full refund of this kicks off again) There’s no way I’d go abroad this year I just don’t think it’s worth it plus is there any point in spending the money to go abroad when things will be so different

We had a cruise booked for July but we cancelled back when lockdown first began. Such a shame as we were going with My parents 😪

I have a week booked in Malta in December. Before that I’ll be staying very local and maybe only venturing to shops once they’re open and get a little quieter.

London in October and November! I’ll probably not go abroad until next year though. I don’t want to go somewhere and spend my money and not get the full experience. London is somewhere I have go so much I don’t mind if some things aren’t available.

A few days ago I would have said no way, but these past couple of days I’ve read some things that have started to make me query this whole covid 19 pandemic. I may well do.

We have a holiday home on Gran Canaria and don't plan going there until some time in 2021 and if quarentine is still in place I'll stay three months to make the trip worth it instead of the usual four weeks.

What have you heard about this 'whole covid 19 pandemic'? Hopefully not some BS dreamt up by someone sat at home wearing a tin foil hat, please share what you heard, enlighten the rest of us.
