new thread,
Continue here!

again, I’m running out of questions but what’s a thread without a poll 🤷‍♀️
a polless thread, who wants a polless thread.
Is polless a word? 🥴

(just filling this up because “continue here” is to short an intro 😂)

Wow. Have just seen today's cases. Even if 10k of them are from a backlog its still huge. What is going on?

Jesus 22,961 UK cases today this is madness
Don't they think that during the peak there was over 100k cases a day? But obviously testing capacity was far less

I think the important thing to look at is hospital admissions, and they're still pretty low as with measures in place it's spreading most amongst the people that will only be mildly affected.

33 deaths so that's good considering ...I think they'll def have to call some sort of meeting this backlog in numbers puts a whole new perspective on things IMO

Essentially until this is resolved the daily figures mean nothing (and any from 24 September until now have also been pointless.)

I don’t even see the point in the daily reporting at the moment - it’s not an accurate reflection when there is backlog anyway.

It would be handy to have a revised daily count from the 24 September which includes the missing tests from each day so we can see what the figures should have been.

I don't know it's thrown their estimations way off if these tests havent went through the test n trace that's thousands of cases gone unnoticed, thousands of spreaders not isolating ?

Current cases by specimen date. A few days there that are around 10k, obviously more could be added to them in the coming days while they add the backlog.

haha I’m here - I have been too hungover all day today to do corona chats 😂 but as soon as I saw that number I wanted to come see what you were all saying of course ☺

even if the numbers for the past few weeks are messed up, the most recent ONS survey shows a slow in the spread and hospital admissions have been slowly rising.

I think maybe hospital admissions are our only true indicator at the moment, it seems like all the other numbers can’t be trusted as an accurate reflection.
