It was always obvious, but soon as the word "irreversible" was mentioned you knew we'd have more lockdowns.
Same as them saying no vaccine passports, and not making vaccines mandatory and no jabs for kids. If they're mouths are open and words are coming out then you know the opposite is true.

In fact, about 6mths into all this it's been predictable

Why do asymptomatic people keep on testing.

For 18 months "they" have called those of us who opposed, who called out this bullshit more or less since day one - conspiracy theorists, weirdos, covid deniers. That we would be in this position now was clear 18 months ago. I am baffled that people have tolerated this for so long. We (collective) get what we deserve.

I really don't know how this money will be spent! More senior managers shuffling paper on their desks! I spent nearly eleven years working in the NHS and am intrigued to know their plans.

They mention that it will help the Covid situation, but how. They are already trying to train and recruit more doctors and nurses.

They mention that it will help waiting lists, but how? If they haven't got the staff, that's the problem. If they are referring to operations then they'll need more operating theatres and a shed load of anaesthetists as well as doctors and nurses.

I would like to understand where all these staff members will appear from before their training is complete. Does anyone have a scooby please. Am I missing something here?

They are deliberately running the NHS into the ground while at the same time throwing money at it. ( so they can say its not our fault) it needs a compleat overhaul starting with getting rid of the dead weight at the top and letting those who actually understand it, run it..

So our day 2 amber country return test still hasnt arrived from the company we ordered from 10 days ago. Apparently arriving tonight. Today is day 2 for us. Rang 119 and they said basically just keep emailing the company and just do the test when it arrives. Honestly, some Tory b is raking it in on these useless test.

On a side note, another friend who went on a UK holiday tested positive this morning. I swear about 80% of the friends I have gone to Cornwall and Devon this summer tested positive within days.

Save a few 100 lives? Stop the understaffed/overmanaged hospitals being overwhelmed by a tiny percentage of the population needing treatment.

My dad is on the urgent list for surgery. He's bleeding loads. He's just rang to see where he is on the list and been told all waiting lists closed due to rising covid cases in our city and staff been deployed to the covid wards. It's just not acceptable

Spreading covid puts the public more at risk than someone enjoying a pint or cig. What do you suggest moving forward? No restrictions at all won't take the jabs but if cases keep rising putting hospitals at risk we just keep on as we have been?
