Title: contraceptive pill after 35

Starting convo: Hi, just looking for advice and thoughts on pill and contraception options now I’m 38 and my long-term health and well-being feels more important. Where can I go to get really detailed advice on which pill brand is best for me (don’t think a 5minute slot with my gp is what I want). Is there a special consultation I can pay to see anywhere?
I definitely don’t want any more children. I absolutely don’t want any other type of chemical hormones e.g the coil or injection.
Been off the pill for a good 8+ years whilst I’ve had 2 children and a divorce. So took the pill age 15-approx 30 years Microgynon, also have had Dianette for a while).
My priorities now are: low cancer risk, ability to control and not have some of my periods, no risk of mid-cycle spot bleeding, no risk of the hormones starting menopause early. I’m also very in-tune with my natural cycle and I like ‘horny week’ when I’m ovulating…am I likely to totally lose this?
Currently in a new relationship and using the withdrawal method which feels very irresponsible (I’ve previously conceived very easily and so has he in his previous marriage).
My gp prescribed me one (I’ll update with the name later) but a different pharmacist told me it had the potential to permanently start the early menopause and that there could be spot bleeding.
Any advice/thoughts/experiences welcome x

The copper coil is completely hormone free. Might be worth a shot?
I think it’s sometime trial & error with these things so you may have to just see what suits your body best. Why not book an appointment with the family planning clinic?

Im nearly 40 and a couple of years ago my dr told me that at my age it was a health risk to be on the pill. I have a copper coil and I'm happy with it.
