I'm genuinely hoping they both get a goodly amount of time for their awful actions, behaviour and general bastardness.

Not news to any of us but interesting that the jury can now hear it. It appears that it was his own comments about being brought up with respect and empathy that has opened the door to this evidence. Idiot.
He thought he knew best when he represented himself and all he’s done is make it all come crashing down.
Classic. He was bound to kick himself in the head by appearing for himself. It’s the 31st April all over again, isn’t it Mark?
I’m fairly sure there would have been legal arguments about whether this evidence could be presented to the jury or not, which will also have not gone in his favour as he would have had to argue against the prosecution why it shouldn’t be allowed.
It sounds like he’s made quite a circus of this but hopefully it will be the nail in the coffin for him.

He must have 'opened the door' in some way by referring to a criminal past before he decided to stop testifying. Perhaps he realised he'd done it and that's why he stopped. He'd have been warned by his previous counsel about not alluding to it at all.
It certainly throws Constance in a different light with the jury. Any little doubt she might have created that maybe the state had over-reacted is blown out of the water when his criminal record comes into it. It throws her delulu into stark relief when you can deduce why her parents were trying to keep tabs on them.

Hopefully this will quash the suggestion that her family were snobby or racist, but that they had genuine concern for her wellbeing.

So the parents (who aren’t together) traced them, plus Father had the two older kids made wards of court. They must have been looking like they were going to skip the country early on.
How wonderful for the poor , empathetic , and kind Dr Gordon, his own narcissism and ego finally shone through, he couldn’t help himself, the abusive POS.
Even if they get the max possible sentences, she’ll be out before she hits menopause.

If I was a juror the fact that her parents hired private investigators wouldn't phase me. If my daughter buggered off pregnant by a rapist id get one too.
