Coffee machine (pods)

Can anyone influence me on which coffee machine to buy?!

I'm no coffee expert but enjoy a latte or a cappuccino at Costa/Starbucks etc. and would love to be able to make one at home. I've been looking online but duck me there are hundreds and I'm overwhelmed!

I liked the look of the Nespresso Vertuo- it's £109 on Amazon and comes with a frother. But then I got lost down a rabbit hole on the internet about buying the pods (Nespresso subscription etc.) and lost interest 😆

Budget is £100 (ish) and I want something that is quite simple and easy to use, that will make me a frothy cappuccino a day on request. I ain't about griding beans or tit...I'm not that fancy (or interested tbh) so defo needs to be a 'pod' one. #basicbitch

Any advice gratefully received xxx

The vertuo is a good price but you can’t buy generic pods for it yet. Nespresso have a subscription option which may be cheaper than buying as you go. I have the Lor one and a frother separately which works for us.

Yeah I think I'd rather have a machine that takes a generic pod (I guess people just buy the pods a lot cheaper on Amazon?) than being tied into an expensive Nespresso scheme.

We’ve got the CitiZ machine which has a milk frother and takes the original nespresso pods so can buy supermarket alternatives (I tend to get the L’or ones) - it’s £239 on the nespresso website but we def didn’t pay that much so shop around, also the one without the frother is a bit cheaper.

If you’re not a coffee fanatic (im not 🤣) you probably just want something along those lines.

I have a dolce gusto and you can get pods from pretty much everywhere. The Starbucks ones are really nice x
