My hairdresser told me that the bloke who designed the original GHD’s sold the company and then started up Cloud Nine....not sure how true that is but definitely think they’re better straighteners
Would like to try the new Dyson ones....but the price

I have one pair of both! When it comes to straightening, they are pretty much the same. However, the difference comes in the finish. If you buy the original Cloud 9 iron, you can choose from seven different temperatures, which obviously helps to protect the hair from damage. The Cloud 9 irons also leave your hair shiny. They’re both great but the Cloud 9 edges it for me based on the customisation element. If you just need to straighten your hair and the temperature doesn’t matter to you, go for the GHD. You can always use a shine spray.

Completely different, but I got one of these and it blew my mind for something so cheap. I actually use this most days now.

I've got long thick frizzy wavy hair, when my GHDs broke I replaced them with Cloud 9 after my hairdresser used them on my hair, they're so much better! I like that you can change the temperature on them.

I got the dyson air wrap and sent it back. The curls didn’t hold and the hot brush attachment didn’t keep My hair frizz free. I ended up buying a diva hairdryer for £50 and it’s been great. It has a cone curl attachment but I’ve never used it.
I know a hairdryer who has the dyson and he rates it. He says it’s great as it’s light, so his arm doesn’t get so sore.
I only blow dry my hair every now and then, so £250 just seems a ridiculous amount of money.

I have the Cloud Nine Wide Iron after my GHDs went on the blink. So much better and hair stays nicely done for longer. I have verrrrrry thick and coarse long hair and there is a definite time reduction using the Cloud Nines - the only downside is they don’t create curls as nicely as the GHDs but that might be because I bought the wider ones.

Another cloud nine user here. The thing that sealed it for me was the temp setting. My daughter is 11 and sometimes wants her hair straight or curled. I like I can do this on a lower heat. I was using the iron (oh the forehead burns I had) since I was her age, and my hair doesn't thank me for it. I figure doing her hair at 150/170 isn't going to do as much damage.

I had GHDs for about 13 years same pair! They died a few months ago and I got cloud 9a. They arent very different to the original GHDs but I heard that newer GHDs arent as good as they once were. I have the touch cloud 9s and they have 2 temperature settings which I like. They are nice straighteners

The price of the Dyson range is crazy! I would like to try the hairdryer but I just can't justify it.

I have the hairdryer and I love it. It’s well worth the money for the finish it gives my hair and it’s definitely less damaged.
Bought the air wrap and meh....it’s fiddly, takes ages and results don’t really last, so I’m loathe to spend the money on the straighteners if they give similar results

I've owned 3 pairs of GHD's over the past 12 years or so but have heard amazing things about Cloud 9s (from friends, not influencers/Instagram).

I have very thick and wavy long hair and I have been looking at the wider straighteners. I know you can get wide GHDs.

Does anybody use Cloud 9s? How do they rate against GHDs?

I’ve never been able to curl my hair with straighteners, I have the babyliss curl secret which is amazing.

It’s the wider ones I’m looking to get, I’ve always had the slim GHDs and I know they also have a wider iron but everyone seems to be jumping from GHD to Cloud 9 so I think I’ll give them a try.
