I do feel for her. That ring is stunning.
I hope she gets it back somehow.

Sentimental value is the kick in the teeth here. Insurers will try and get out of anything these days so admitting unlocked car is key in any claim.
All my sympathy, genuinely.
She said she’d left it unlocked before editing her story to leave that out .Is anyone seriously going to lie and say their car was locked (when all evidence suggests it wasn’t )? The first question the insurers will then ask for is for evidence of someone breaking into the car surely?
It's actually pretty common for thieves to get into locked cars using jamming technology - I've started seeing a lot of people with nicer cars locally going back to a good old steering lock because that is more secure. She may not even remember whether she locked the car or not and just assumed she hadn't.Is anyone seriously going to lie and say their car was locked (when all evidence suggests it wasn’t )? Apparently there is a known fault in VW cars that allows thieves to do this. And, why did CT edit her post to take the unlocking part out? It's actually pretty common for thieves to get into locked cars using jamming technology - I've started seeing a lot of people with nicer cars locally going back to a good old steering lock because that is more secure. It's for a totally different amount, but my insurance once covered me for a stolen iphone when I put it down when when I was drunk and someone picked up my unattended bag. I hope she gets it something for it
So many people posting here about how they would never do what Clemmie has done. People make mistakes. I'm sure if you'd asked Clemmie in advance whether she would put her precious heirloom in a purse, in a buggy, in an unlocked car she would have said no. It was a lapse of judgement presumably she thought she'd locked the car and thought she'd go back and get the pushchair and forgot the purse was in there and got distracted. Loads of us get distracted everyday but most of the time we aren't unlucky enough that it causes a problem.
Yes she made a mistake, she was also unlucky that someone stole from her at that time.
I have loads of issues with other things Clemmie does but in this situation I just feel sorry for her and I'm glad it hasn't happened to me.
Any reputable pawnbroker will ask for ID from the person who’s selling the jewellery to cover their own arses and if they have any inkling they’re stolen or dodgy, either won’t touch them or would contact the police.I don’t know the legalities of Pawn shops and stolen goods, but I would imagine if that is where it was sold the pawn shop would know the very high value and get rid very quickly?
Those diamonds were huge and flawless!
I would literally be too scared to take them to the gym why not leave them at home? - we are not talking your local high street jewellers either ( like my ring ) those look madly expensive plus they are inherited you’d guard them with your life - not that I’m saying give your life up for possessions but you know what I mean it just seems so careless and yes I’ve had loads of kids so I know you can be ‘forgetful’ but stillI don’t know the legalities of Pawn shops and stolen goods, but I would imagine if that is where it was sold the pawn shop would know the very high value and get rid very quickly?

Omg, that caption is just nonsenseView attachment 37723its a pawnbroker Surely they tried to pawn them...
