She sounds rubbish and I probably wouldn’t use her again.
You should have given her at least an extra £20.00+, not a meal at your local greasy spoonI have a cleaner. When she initially came I showed her the things I wanted done, and she did them very well. Nowadays she comes in, and we chat a bit, and I mention anything specific, but other than that she just gets on with everything! She knows where all the cleaning products are, the vaccumn cleaner, brush etc. Sometimes, I find she has tided things up that make it look better - even though I never asked her to!
She isn't a stickler for time. She will often work a short time extra. Yesterday, after I had a leak which ruined a ceiling, she cleaned up, much more than I pay her for, so I took her to the local cafe for lunch.
A gold coin ... a round pound !!This is another question, how much do you pay per hour?
I have had a cleaner like this, I used to have an amazing cleaner but she went back to her home country (fing brexit) I live in a small flat but pay for 3 hours, even though the good cleaner often didn't need that much as there wasn't too much to do, but she would always check with me if she finished early to see if there was anything else she could do/she would be proactive and do things like clean the fridge without me asking. Anyway as I said I got a new cleaner who is a friend of the good one, she finished early but I didn't think much of it, although I then realised it was 45 minutes early, which is a lot. I went into the kitchen after she left and she had left all the washing up that was in the sink and hasn't even properly cleaned the floor. It was really awkward when she text the next week to ask when to come over, i pretended I was away, I couldn;t believe the cheek!Do you have a cleaner? Have you had problems with a cleaner?
I've started to have one for two hours a week for my 3 bed house.
I do ok at keeping the house reasonably clean I would like some help in the places I miss.
She turned up today and the house was already pretty clean as I had people staying last weekend so gave it a decent going over on Friday. I started saying the things I wanted doing and she interrupted to say should I just get on with it. So I said yes expecting her to use her innovative.
She came to speak to me at 11:45 saying she'd done downstairs and would do upstairs next week. She asked me to check the job and I pointed out a few things she missed - cobwebs and corners she hadn't hooveed. Bit awkward as I thought fuck it's no different. So then she said let me do that. 5 mins later she said all done and kinda hinted she wanted to leave with a "10 mins left but I'm all done". But she's missed just about everything I wanted her to do and only did a few things I expressly mentioned, but I didn't mean just that light fitting or cobweb I ment everyone in the house that needs it!! The windowsills are all clear so would have taken a second to wipe down but they're dusty and untouched, the chandelier I pointed out has 90% of the cobwebs still on it and is covered in dust. I could go on!! She only touched 3 out of the 5 rooms downstairs.
Is she a shit cleaner taking the piss or should I need to point out everything that needs doing? I can't help but wonder what was she doing for 2 hours. She may have wiped down the already clean surfaces but I've done more cleaning in 20 mins to do all the things she missed and it feels like a bigger change. The lounge windows really need cleaning (frames and glass) and she had window cleaner and cloths so why didn't she do them?! I'm getting angry
You damn skinflint!£20 that would be more than she gets a year![]()
I dread to wonder. This is another question, how much do you pay per hour?
tbh I did mean it seriously lol, I don't think that was a true comment! someone I know had a cleaner they paid like £5 an hour, and she supplied cleaning products which seems like slave labourYou damn skinflint!
