Having just read Seamus O Reilly's column in today's Observer I am now confused.
I understood from Irish government guidelines that anyone coming into Ireland from the UK would have to isolate for two weeks. Yet his article contradicts that.
He says he was tested but then "distances were kept" until he got the results of the test. He was in the park with his baby, etc.
I find this really frustrating because my mother in law is in Ireland and we can't go and see her without quarantining for two weeks. Which my partner doesn't have enough holiday to do.
Has anyone been there recently?

I live in Northern Ireland so keep up to date for ROI too.

Great Britain is not on Ireland's 'Green List' currently therefore quarantine rules apply to those arriving from there.

If you are speaking about Northern Ireland, which I assume you aren't, then you do not have to quarantine.

you only quarantine in ireland if you arrive directly from UK but if you travel from UK through northern Ireland to ROI than you dont have to quarantine

I'm in pretty much the same situation as you and have been holding off going home because my partner doesn't have the holidays to take 2 weeks off. Seems like the 2 week rule is definitely still in place:

You can still book weekend return flights to Dublin though so I wonder how that works, would you be stopped from getting your return flight back to the UK or do they just trust people to abide by the rules and stay at least 2 weeks

That is confused...I reckon some people are quarantining and lots are not and it depends on how your friends and relatives view the situation.
My partner's family would not be happy to see us due to the risk.

Has anyone travelled UK to Ireland recently? We are due to fly at the weekend and getting herb out so about being stopped

I flew England to NI and back , I know its still part of the UK so slightly different but I was still worried about it. It was completely fine. Sorry probably no help :(

Aw thank you. We are flying to Dublin. Wondering if it's worth paying for new flights to Belfast

I think you might have to hotel quarantine if you fly into Dublin but someone correct me if I'm wrong!
