What did you want to do when you were younger and which field did you end up working in as an adult?

i really wanted to become an astrophysicist 😅 And although I’m currently a SAHM, I work in medical imaging.I love my field, and it’s still STEM, but sometimes I wonder what it’d be like being an astrophysicist 😅

I wanted to be a history teacher. I became a lawyer (though now I'm a SAHM). I hated my legal career because I couldn't find work in my preferred practice area. I'm thinking I'll retrain as a history teacher when my kids reach school age so I can fulfill my childhood dream and also keep the same schedule as my children.

I always wanted to be an author or a book editor. I went off to uni to do English but my bf managed to persuade me to come home and rent a house with him😩 I'm now a HR Advisor! I've since left my partner and hoping to go back to uni as soon as my tenancy is up!

I wanted to be a doctor but am a project manager. For me, it's about my working environment, conditions, colleagues and pay over what I actually do tbh.

I wanted to be in the sciences or medicine but I struggled with them at school. I am now a solicitor

I also wanted to be a doctor and am now a project manager. I work with a lot of doctors and I’m glad I didn’t go down that route, it’s a very tough career. I don’t love my job but it’s flexible and my colleagues are nice and understanding about childcare emergencies etc so it’s fine for now.

I never really knew what I wanted to do when growing up. I currently work in admin for a charity. One day I'd like to work giving something back to a charity that helped me.

Cabin Crew but now a PA. Still my dream job but with a Mortgage and Kids it will remain a dream 😓

I wanted to work at a magazine like Devil Wears Prada haha it was my dream! I actually went and did it but only for a small gossip mag but still! I lived the dream for all of a year before realising the wage is crap and the work was boring and I was sick of Katie Price’s face on every cover!

Now a Project Manager in the Tech industry.

Wanted to be a solicitor either specialising in family or criminal law, ended up a conveyancing paralegal at the moment, yawn 😴

I wanted to be a teacher at nursery school or a hairdresser.

Now I am a contracts administrator, pay is better but I think I would liked being a hairdresser or teacher more.

Wanted to be a policewoman, went to university to study Nursing (dropped out), now an administrator. It's not a career and not well paid but the hrs work around my children, helps towards paying the bills and the people I work with are lovely! When my youngest is at school I hope to find my career.

I wanted to be an Air Stewardess however that never materialised as i couldn't swim. Was an Assistant Accountant for 3 years and now working nights at a Supermarket for last 7 years which i love as its less pressure.

I wanted to be a paramedic, im currently a sahm but before my kids were born I worked in the care industry, trying to get back to work but finding hours that are suitable around my children and a military husband is impossible!

Work from home for Ohs business. I really wanted to work in social services but I had children 😫 and I think I’m just to old to go back to uni now.

I wanted to either work with children or be a hairdresser. I worked with children for a while.
I work in local government now.

I wanted to be a solicitor, somewhere along the line I’ve ended up as a social worker
