Child maintenance when child turns 18

Hi can anyone advise what happens when your child turns 18? My daughter turns 18 next year but she will still be doing her a levels until mid June when she finishes! Her dad - My Ex has always paid me monthly which was an agreement on his part and wasn’t through CMS (no idea what his intentions are once she turns 18 as he hasn’t told me) 🙄 is he still legally obliged to pay for her past her 18th birthday (early next year) whilst she is still in full time education until the summer or can he stop payments then and there? he’s difficult to communicate with at the best of times so I’m unsure how to broach the subject with him🙈 😬 please can anyone advise that’s been in this situation? As I sole earner I want to work out my finances, Thankyou in advance 😊

He will be required to pay until she finishes. In the case of lower than degree level education if she were to do more a levels after he would have to pay until 21 in theory.
Not an apprenticeship though, which my ex pushed my child into so he didn’t have to pay as he prefers to spend his money on holidays and c and his other children 😬

Ahh thanks much for your reply as I thought then but no idea what his intentions are but knowing him he will probably think he can probably just stop it the minute she’s 18 🙈 it certainly will be a painful conversation then 😬 yeah your ex sounds like mine 🤨 minus the c tho he’s a heavy drinker and smoker much like his misses 😒

I think it will go til aug 31st of the year the a levels end.
