Right the most famous person I met was Paul McCartney in 1987 when I checked him in to a hotel I worked at, he was lovely and talked to me so naturally (ive heard he can be really difficult to handle though ), I also met Aha in the same hotel and they are gorgeous and so polite, I bumped into David Beckham in a shopping centre and didn't realise it was actually him until he spoke and said he was sorry, I also met another half of a famous 80s duo and he was the most obnoxious pig ive ever known, oh and shared a lift with Cliff Richard quite by accident !!!
You met A-ha? I'm so so jealous. Morten is just beautiful. Was the 80s duo person Andrew Ridgley?
I can't compete but today I met Paddy and Marlon (Emmerdale, no idea of real names) and they were both so lovely. They were filming and kept being bombarded for selfies & each time were funny and polite.

No sorry not Andrew Ridgeley it was the other half of a comedy duo, the reason I didn't say was lets say he had visitors and a few "parties" with a porn film thrown in although he denied he had watched anything of the sort even though it automatically registered on our computer. A -Ha where the nicest most polite boys ive ever met and so beautiful up close too, I melted when I saw and talked to them but had to stay professional

I so want to know who this is. I'm going with Karamo. I feel confident placing a really large bet that it's not Bobby.

How did she meet them and in what way was he full of himself? Details please ?
I will just say definitely not Bobby.

I was actually surprised to hear this from my friend as she's shy but incredibly sweet. It definitely gave me pause on some of the members in the Fab Five. But then again, I would have to assume anyone who is wanting to work in media and be in the public eye, to an extent are going to have very high opinions about themselves and are a bit of a famewhore. Not always but usually the case.

I've not met anyone really famous apart from bumping into a scottish celeb at an event my college class attended a few years ago, though she's not so well known - Muriel Gray, she was really nice.

My daughter on the other hand shook hands with the duchess of Cambridge Katherine when she visited our city.

My other half met the former tv presenter Matthew Kelly in the supermarket and had a pleasant chat with him, he was very polite and friendly.

I still cant work out who @HappyHalloween is talking about so if possible would like to know thanks.
wow your daughter is so lucky , Kate is gorgeous and ive heard a lovely person too, my mum got to meet up close and personal so to speak the Princess of Wales when she opened our local maternity hospital , my mum worked there in the labs and she was chosen to stand and shake hands with her, I was gutted as I loved her although im not a royalist just certain ones seem more normal to me and she was one of my favourites

Saw jason donovan in the summer, we waited at stage door/a gate for him there was only about 15 of us, as soon as he came out he didn't even say hi he just shouted at the 'crowd' that he had no time for selfies, but he did sign tickets for us. He would of been there another 10 mins max so a bit off.
I've met him a few times at stage door after Priscilla Queen of the Desert and he has always come across okay, chatting and taking photos. He even once stopped to take a photo with my auntie while he was on a phone call and I was taking the photo and my phone froze ?‍♀ he waited for me though.
I have heard he can be quite rude though!

Please don't tell me the fab five was Jonathan as I love him! ? I feel like it was him or Tan though!

Kanye West, a long time ago, worked for a company that looked after him on UK tour. He was really polite, thanked everyone individually and was really lovely.
Duncan from Blue, was at the bar of a very busy restaurant/bar...really rude and flexing the ‘don’t you realise who I am?’ attitude.
Melinda Messenger is tiny, she was after buying the same apartment my friend purchased. Did not like waiting for her other half, at the time. Arguing in the lift then all smiles when stepped out.
Jack Straw was lovely, really wanted a chat...I was late for an appointment so had to politely excuse myself.
When my sister and I were young, my dad took us to meet a boxing idol of his, at a Brut promotion event. We shake hands, my dad proudly declares how we are all great fans. I loudly say “ Who is Henry Cooper?”...my dad brings it up regularly.
Lived next to ‘Zak Dingle’, Steve is the nicest man, remember him going for the Emmerdale audition, he kept the hat he usually wore on and they kept that as part of the Zak image.
Grew up knowing Paul Abbot’s family, lived where he based Shameless...what a claim to fame eh?! ?

I used to work in Richmond (UK) and that area is quite rich and lots of celebs lives there. I have heard that paparazzi is not allowed there, they can't get license to take photos In that area or something like that. Maybe that's a lie, not sure.
The restaurant where I worked was often visited by big celebrities and I have served Tom Hardy and his wife Sarah Ward ( Such a nice, humble human beings), Meryl Streep was there with her husband and friends - also very nice people, Fearne Cotton - overall nice but always left big mess with her little ones , waiters nightmare. :D
Many more - Ed Sheeran was there with Ellie Goulding, Idris Elba with his family, Jamie Oliver, Dougie Poynter from McFly, Emily Blunt and her husband John Krasinski - really liked those two.
Natalie Dormer was there with some filming crew , Amanda Holden and Chris Hemsworth with families. Lots of footballers , but I can't remember their names.
Overall everyone was very nice, polite , left good tips . What else can you wish for. :D

Ha ha that's funny re Fearne Cotten - I'd heard (on GG possibly) that at one restaurant she left a crappy nappy on the table. Wasn't your restaurant was it?

Jelly Bean - Yes, I wrote that comment. It was where I worked, but another waiter was serving her on that occasion. Maybe back then she was overwhelmed with 2 little children and just completely forgot about it.
I used to hate when parents left a big mess after their children. I will never understand how can one sit at the table that is covered with food leftovers and you are literally constantly stepping on food. Yuk.

Been a bit of a lurker on this thread but I really want to know who Happyhalloween is talking about.

I met Josh franceschi from you me at six once, such a nice guy!! The rest of the band were a bit rude though.
Thats good to know he's nice, I was a big fan as a teen! Although I know there was some goss/drama about him cheating on his ex. I think a lot of their last album was about that.

I’ve met Mel C. She’s lovely!!

And a few darts players...
I'm so jealous! I'd kill to meet any of the Spice Girls haha. I love that she seems so down to earth and normal.

Both my brushes with fame are really lame and in a theme: Recognised someone at Stone Roses concert at Heaton Park as I was dodging through the crowd, but couldn’t place her so greeted her with a “hi, how are you!” and she said, “good thanks, you?” with a big smile. I replied “oh great thanks, have a fab time!” as I passed by. Bothered my brain for ages where I knew her from, then it struck me it was Julie Hesmondhalgh (Hayley) from
Coronation Street ? Second time was last year shopping in Leeds and this bloke passed by with his son. Again, brain told me I knew him so I said “hello!” as I passed, he looked a bit startled but said “hello!” back. on the train home I realised it was Cain Dingle ?

In my defence I see a LOT of people through work and am good with faces but crap at remembering names/where I know someone from!

It's a good job I'm not you, if I'd seen Chris Hemsworth or Idris I don't think I'd have been able to stop myself licking them, or begging them to marry me ???

I love a model village - which one was it? I had the same with Thom Yorke (Radiohead) but not the model village bit. I was walking through the university car park years ago with my friend and he smlled and said Hallo. No idea who he was but my friend said Radiohead were playing in the Student's Union that night so it was him.
