Hello,

A cat keeps pooing in my lawn. Originally it was doing it in the bark area so I bought a strip of that spiky matting and that stopped it.

Now it's taken to doing it on the grass in front of the spiky mat

Does anyone have any success stories of how to stop it? When I had a fox problem I used Jeyes fluid, now I've learned it's toxic for cats?

Btw I dont know whose cat it is. The poo is always there when I wake up and there's a few cats that I see on the street but I dont know who owns them.

The solar powered ones that make a sound that cats hate has worked for me. I got 2 of them. It's like Pride bloody rock by me too

Lion faeces. Although if you have that in your garden you have bigger problems 😀

I have the same trouble in the back garden and on my drive 🤬
The only thing I’ve tried so far is the ‘scatter cat’ spray I got it from b&q
It’s quite cheap and seems to work, I just makesure I spray weekly and after it has rained too, if the solar repellants are recommended I might get some of those though!

I tried the ones that emit the sound cats hate but I didn't find them effective. My cat climbed into the pot I'd placed it in and cheerfully pissed on it.

I get fed up of the cats going through my bin bags, so i used to sprinkle black pepper over the bags and they didn't go through them. Also i heard Lemon juice is another deterrent but haven't tried that yet.

my SIL told me to use chilli powder

Cats don’t like lemon/citrus, maybe you could sprinkle some around?

My auntie sprayed water at a cat that used to use her garden as a toilet. it worked although she was worried the owner would be angry which was off putting.

I would def spray them if I saw them doing it, annoying thing is I don’t know what time of night/morning they’re around. Wish I knew whose it was so I could tell them to come pick it up, I almost gagged picking up this mornings present

What about a timed sprinkler that you could time through the night? It'll catch them at least once I would have thoughr? X

The best thing I found was my dog. He's only small but he loves to chase a cat. But then you have dog poo to clean up so that's possibly not solving the problem.

We used to have a Tom cat that would spray in our garden and up our backdoor. I cornered it and soaked it with water and he never came back.

Yep, chop up a few lemons and place them around the perimeter of your garden and you won’t get the cats coming in 👍👍👍
