Currently facing a dilemma. I am a young professional at the beginning of my career and my goal would be to eventually work within the two biggest luxury groups: Kering and LVMH or simply get into luxury marketing. But I'm a bit lost on how to go about it? I would ideally only want to work in North America where I am based but it seems like I might be able to get my foot in the door by applying to positions in Asia or Europe for example? however time passes and I'd like to settle down eventually, build a life in north america and everything. What would you do?

I work in marketing and branding so this is just my opinion.
I’d stay in North American and pay close attention to jobs in digital marketing, google analytics, audience awareness, but also try and get some experience in traditional marketing, like tv advertising, physical mailers etc. Starting at a smaller company with a good brand may help you as you’ll likely do more than one role within the team. I also don’t think it matters what company you start at if you have a passion for a specific industry.
Be ready to move jobs when you’ve learned enough and need more experience and/or money.
Essentially, marketing is a box ticking exercise with some creativity thrown in. Bigger brands often outsource their creative needs to agencies anyway, so it’s a case of sensible decision making and accountability when you get to higher corporate level. Those decisions are made easily if you’ve worked your way up and understand the marketing mix.
Good luck!

Appreciate the help! and it's a relief to know I can stick to living in North America and have a decent shot at a good career. I sincerely want to put down roots, have kids and also be there for those kids, some people were advising me to apply for jobs in say China lol to have a better shot at getting into LVMH/Kering. But life goes by quick and I've already lived abroad previously so I would now like to make some friends and more in the city I am based in.
