I’d say the lines on my forehead have drastically reduced too (I’ve never had anything done to those). Glad you’ve had the same experience, it’s probably the first time I’ve taken something that actually delivers 😂

I lost loads of weight last year, I was already pretty slim so it really tipped me over into bag o’ bones territory (because unsurprisingly cancer is quite a good appetite suppressant 😂) and before I started the collagen my face was so gaunt - I’ve not managed to put a lot of weight back on yet but my face definitely looks much much less like a 💀 and it makes such a difference as I was swerving the mirror as I was just so gross.

I’m trying to speed up hair growth after chemo (despite cold capping which was horrific, most of my hair fell out anyway).

I’ve been taking nutrigeeks collagen powder and their biotin tablets. And a strong vitamin D tablet from Amazon. The collagen has massively plumped my skin out - I had a frown line inbetween my eyebrows I’ve had Botox on in the past that has actually disappeared.

I’ve also been using a biotin shampoo/conditioner and serum. (plantur - the pink bottle). My hair is DEFINITELY growing and is pretty thick. I can’t say for sure if any of that has made a difference but it hasn’t harmed it and none of it is ruinously expensive in comparison to Champo that I was considering until I saw that Lorna Luxe was peddling it and her has been shit for years 😂

Can you blow dry your hair instead of straightening? Also what straighteners are you using - can you control the temp and use it at a lower setting? I have Cloud 9s which let me do that.

Are you quite sure that your hair is really "dreadful" when left in it's natural state? What you call "frizzy', the rest of us may see it as perfectly nice wavy hair, and let's face it, we're never happy with what we have, are we? What is your natural colour? Can you get away with less bleaching, and maybe try a tint instead of the highlights? Or just some blonde around your face, leaving the rest a bit darker? (I only colour the top layer of my hair to minimise the damage, it sounds weird, but it works really well)

I have greasy hair, so I feel your pain, but what about the Frizz-Ease products? They saved my life after a disasterous perm, and I didn't find them to be very greasy. But to be honest, there's nothing you can do to "heal" damaged hair, you can make it look better, but the only way to prevent it breaking in future, is to change your hair habits.

No you're absolutely right! And the straightening especially I'm a demon for and need to stop unless special occasions. I'll check out Frizz Ease again, any particular one that you'd recommend? Thanks.

Long story short my hair keeps breaking. Now that's my fault for destroying it with bleach and heat over many years. But now I've hit my 40s my hair is even more thin and breaking more. My hair is naturally frizzy and looks dreadful when not straightened. I have a long face and I just feel so ugly when I don't have a bit of a side fringe and straight hair. But at this rate I'll have no hair to straighten. I get highlights and low lights every 2 months. Other than that damage (please let me stay blonde 😭) what can I do to a) to help my hair heal - vitamins, treatments etc? And b) what products could I use to tame it down so it's not so frizzy when not straightened? It's very fine and gets greasy within 24 hours so some products may make that look worse. Thin hair also runs in the family unfortunately so genetics are not on my side either!

You probably don't realise that you're doing it, but everyone tends to go over the same section of hair several times, the heat damage is horrendous, especially on bleached hair. Thank you for saying about the plump skin!

I felt this happened to my face too with the collagen, but I wasn’t sure if it was my imagination

Collagen, biotin. Use sulphate free products, boar bristle brush for the frizz. Try not to use as much heat or use on lowest heat & also silk pillowcase or bonnet at night

Use a clarifying shampoo or a scalp scrub to help with the greasy hair and always double shampoo

I haven't used it for years, but my sister, who does have hair that goes frizzy at the slightest hint of damp, swears by this...(Ignore the misleading header, it's shampoo!)

I'm not a professional, but I do my own hair and have made a magnitude of errors over my time.

In the worst cases, I've used Johnson's baby shampoo because it's free of harsh chemicals, a deep conditioner (I like the Aussie 3 minute miracle, or Dove intensive) and wash your hair as infrequently as possible. I was doing once a week.

Thanks. Been taking collagen almost a year now. I heard it’s good for nail growth, but it hasn’t worked there. I keep taking it as I feel it’s improved my skin

Might be worth looking at adding a multivitamin alongside the collagen & biotin & see if that helps. I take biotin, collagen & vitamin d & I limit how often I use heat on my hair. And it’s helped. I’ve had hair breakage because my vitamin d was low & now it’s getting better as I’ve had a high dose from gp to boost it
