"I'm conscious I'd need to provide content of value..." as opposed to the drivel we're getting on YT, which...she is ok with because it is for free.

"I could post share them on Instagram, but boyyyy am I losing my passion for that app." what happened there??
According to my influencer dictionary, it roughly translates to “Last week Facebook and Instagram went down unexpectedly. Suddenly I’ve realised I need to diversify my income streams or else I’ll myself in real financial trouble.”

Hello all, this is my first post ever so hopefully I am doing it right.

This latest video was too much. In the video she said youtube is "something I do because I enjoy doing it" but yet she doesn't want to do it if she's not getting paid? Girl hasn't worked a hard day in her life (something which is made super clear in her work chat video). I get so annoyed when these influencers say they had "such a busy day" and then go on to say they had 3 calls! At 30 minutes each! A whole hour and a half of work! God bless.

Based on her depop, I do think she does a lot of content creation that she is not obligated to post. However, (if I'm right), it's super shitty that she then goes on to sell the gifted products. Also, did anyone else notice––she sold the red sweaters.

I also couldn't help but notice that these girls (BB, Lizzy, Lindsey, etc) all booked holidays during fashion week/month. Perhaps to distract themselves from not getting invited to any good shows?

One last thing, I stumbled upon this the other day. Check the dates––y'all aren't wrong about the copying.

I am SO here for BB spilling the tea on working with Rose Inc and how they told her not to mention it’s an ad. Quite a few influencers have been raving on about (Anna Edit), so she’s simultaneously spilt the tea on them and their shady working practices / lack of integrity. Keep it coming BB!

Sorry but I don't think Brittany's marketing job in a gallery is anything to get your panties in a bunch. She's qualified enough. It's a total overreaction to see this as some kind of a reflection of the whole art industry's state or whatever. She got a job, get over it and stop trying to gate-keep a basic marketing role.

Complete tangent- the black jumper she had on at the end. Turns out to be from the brand Row ——— costly amount of £1300 WTF!

they’re all becoming so inaccessible and making it the norm to spend that much on a piece of clothing.

her and Lizzy are so bad for it . Especially Lizzy!
remember when she flaunted her augustinus bader face cream in our faces? some $265 for a cream which a regular $10 will do on the market. i felt physically sick that day and learned that such a brand even existed. my, how the other half live! it's one thing to spend the money you earned on things that will give you joy but spending close to $300 on a face cream but also being gifted thousands of pounds worth of clothes and shoes (and the Maison Margiela Xmas dinner set whatever) and then making a big noise about how the influencer model makes you feel "icky" while being fully complicit in it is... a FEAT. so is underestimating your followers thinking they don't know how to put two and two together, like maam i don't need a phd in mathematics from stanford.

anyway i unfollowed her. if she is indeed reading in here, there is a lot of good feedback that she can use. we're not gonna charge her for our time and creative processes 🤪

They're becoming a parody now, aren't they. Oscar nominated 'waking up' scene, surrounded by Tekla bedding. Sip a matcha latte. Nibble on an avocado. Throw on some Birkenstocks and a Uniqlo coat, and go and do something really challenging, like visit the tailor or buy an overpriced pastry. Complain to the world how difficult life is. Wave to camera. Fade to black.

Wow, Brittany, thanks so much so your searing insight! We all know you’re not just an ordinary influencer but more a philosopher and artistic creator with a much greater capacity for empathy. As an ordinary person I just went on the aid agency sites (you might have seen them promoted by the lower grade influencers). Most now have a comprehensive list of items they need and say its great to give cash as they can buy most things cheaper locally.

It's always super helpful to have your take on waste and reassuring to hear that you’re so concerned. You’re such a beacon with your frugal lifestyle and no travel policy. I guess you’ll be waving bye bye to Mango? No? Oh dear.

Anyway, you’re such an inspiration – keep on being amazing. (y)

I also think she thinks working at a gallery legitimizes her “interest” in fashion and like the wearable art, avant garde-ness of fashion. Even though her style is pretty basic and not super creative, working at a gallery makes her appear more artsy and elevated. She wears Issey Miyake, has a Noguchi lamp, shops at the Row and other obscure brands, she dabbles in photography, attends art exhibitions on the weekend, she wears Tabis…that’s like the Gallerina starter pack.

Haha! I cannot believe she said she doesn't feel motivated to make content if she is not paid. Hence, she wants to start Patreon. Also, she is apparently more open to criticism if it's coming from paying viewers. She's really selling herself for money, isn't she?

I wouldn't be surprised if some part of wanting to go over to Patreon is also to cut off Tattle / anyone thinking negatively about her. I think she's so neurotic she reads here regularly (hey BB!) and just wants to live in an echo chamber of people who she's misled into thinking she's an original "visual artist."

If making money via aff links truly makes her feel icky then I wonder how icky she felt accepting a Warehouse (aka Boohoo) brand deal after waffling on about sustainability. Or how icky she feels about using that brand money / aff link money to buy a £1.6k row banana bag 🤔

She should grab that fine tooth comb she uses to go through everything else in life, and just drag it through her hair. Simple. 😂 😂 😂

Can't help but laugh at how she talks about mixing gold + silver jewelry and being in a 'necklace' phase, like this is like a new discovery to her.

Also, for the record, I was genuinely shocked she would want Monica Vinader pieces but then I opened the description box and saw the sponsorship note and then it all made sense.

BB glosses over this in the video but the gold pieces are gold vermeil. Given everything I've seen of BB, I would expect her to buy solid gold pieces (sometimes referred to as 'gold filled'), especially given that MV's prices are high enough that solid gold wouldn't be that much more, but alas, the sponsorship! MV allegedly uses 18ct gold for their vermeil, but still. There's no way of telling how thick the 18ct gold layer is vs. the brass base and these pieces generally require more care to ensure that the gold doesn't tarnish.

The fact that she even comments that MV's products are 100% recycled, sterling silver, and 18ct gold (pause) vermeil. She should have explained the difference. Just because something is 18ct gold doesn't mean you're paying for 100% 18ct gold, sheesh!

If you would allow me to indulge in a BB style ramble...

The whole solid gold vs. vermeil vs. plated issue is something that I've looked into quite a bit since I've been in the market for more jewelry and it really grinds my gears when jewelry companies describe their products as "fine" jewelry but only have gold vermeil products. It's my opinion that companies like MV and Mejuri do this as a way of over-charging customers who think they're buying higher-quality jewelry than they really.

This isn't a comment on those who want vermeil jewelry, since vermeil is generally more reasonably priced, it's a comment on companies who purposefully mislead customers. Even using the word 'gold vermeil' is misleading since the gold is (usually) only slightly thicker and higher quality than plated and can still tarnish. There generally aren't any rules/guidelines for what constitutes plated vs. vermeil and no one holds these companies accountable.

At the end of the day, vermeil and plated jewelry are both plated and are usually filled with brass, and for BB to shill this company to us knowing that she would probably never even buy from them herself... ugh.

Apologies for the rant. This is near and dear to my heart. I feel like people are purposefully being led astray on this topic and jewelry isn't cheap.

My views on influencers like Brittany are the same as the ones I have for politicians - happy to accept all the perks, freebies, money that comes with the job; reacts all hurt and injured when their own actions or words come round to bite them in the arse; and tries to deflect and blame their broken promises, half-arsed attempts and non-starters on someone or something else (us the viewer, their own mental health, no camera battery, external criticism etc). She should have stayed just a silent presence on Instagram. Everything started falling apart when she moved out, spent (or got discounted or free) about twenty grands worth of new furniture, books, shoes and clothes, and then exposed for copying other people's content and asthetic and passing it off as her own

Currently listening.
Arrrgh! No one is forcing her to do this. If it causes anxiety, paranoia and agoraphobia (whilst lying in bed) then just don't do it. What is so hard to comprehend? Why do we have to keep going through this? 😩
Oh, never mind, you got over it in a day and now it's a really good week. Wish I found it that simple.
Existential angst, exhibitions, books, trouser tailoring, off to the "studio". Pretty standard I'd say. ;)
i had to watch this bit and im sorry if my post comes across as harsh but all i got from her day of "anxiety and paranoia" was how utterly privileged she is. it's like what you say @Soapy Dolphin -- wish i also had it that simple. to feel worthless, paranoid, and anxious until the walls cave in, and then having the opportunity to go to London and soak into a museum atmosphere. And much later have the complete privilege to be invited to lunch with a perfume company (is that right? Or is Loewe a clothing brand?) and then put on this fake humble persona of "oh hey guys you've invited the wrong person" and calling it imposter syndrome is just not done.

maybe my own jealous insecurities are showing (and i don't care if it is), but buying all the clever books in the world, trying to sound so "aware", but also acting like "*uwu* is this my life??????" is disgusting  either you know your privilege or you don't. there is no in between. i cannot find myself sympathising with white women struggles, esp BB's when it's clearly fake. her MH struggles notwithstanding, if there is one person who can afford therapy, it's her. meanwhile i have to save up for a month's therapy and try to find a way to get a visa to the west for a better life, while being rejected for not having enough money in my account.

a person aware of their privilege who wants to do better will work on it without making a big scene of it. imagine having the chance to go to london to look at art whenever you want. imagine having that privilege. imagine having the privilege to just buy a bottle of susanne kauffman bath oil or whatever. imagine just dropping big bucks on household items with no care in the world about food. what really disgusts me is that BB is aware of her standing in the world, in her community and her industry yet all she cribs about is how influencing is icky. I have never been so triggered by anyone. Her girlboss gatekeep gaslight struggles are very obvious yet it's a shame that everything is masked under the guise of MH.

anyway, im sorry for the rant guys. i think i need a day off to go and weep in the corner.
