British Airways - flight cancellations

BA have today cancelled another 10,300 flights, yesterday they cancelled 1500 flights.
That's 30,000 flight from April to October this year, most of these are short haul flights.

I think they are going to pull out of the short haul market.

They won’t ever pull out of the shorthaul market. They have the coveted slots at LHR and over at LGW it’s no longer British Airways but a low cost subsidiary of British Airways. If anything, they’ll do the same at LHR. They cancelled the flights as a precautionary measure and have a significant shortage of short haul pilots.

BA will never cut their nose of to spite their face. Their new CEO isn’t showing up trumps, they can’t get the staff they once had due to the impact of Covid-19 where they made mass redundancies and ex colleagues don’t want to return. The redundancies hugely impacted their public image.

Wanted to look at going back to Nashville and BA are the only airline that fly there direct, don’t think I’ll be booking it any time soon as it will just be cancelled 😂
