if this has caused any reasonable doubt for the jury i give up. i mean come on. he had the knife with her blood on it hidden in his wardrobe. her blood is all over his coat and shoes, hes made methodical plans to murder her with this said knife as seen in phone data. they were both seen RUNNING from the body.
im struggling to take this forensic scientist seriously. what is she actually implying here? that the blood splatter all over his clothes and shoes could have been innocent and happened when he was 10m away pissing at a tree? does common sense not come into it? no? anyone?

Did anyone read the part where the forensics lady said they couldn’t look at all the blood and check it due to financial constraints? There seems to be quite a few things that weren’t checked

With the phone messages and everything else they have thought they had an open shut case. Clearly corners were cut and sadly it’s now coming about.

also us being led to believe “fatty tissue” was on the knife when that is actually not confirmed in facts is really crappy of the prosecution imo.

They are, but honestly that's just so unbelievable to me. By this point if (big if!) his story is true, yes claiming he watched her die, knew X had stabbed her, got covered in blood checking she was dead (!!!) and then decided to take the knife home? REALLY? REALLY?

No..sorry, I do not buy it!

Also... he was the one who ended up covered in blood but girl X, who stabbed Brianna 28 times in a frenzy, comes away uncovered and unscathed. Plus none of her DNA on the knife... Yet the boy who checked on her ends up with blood all over him...

I wonder why forensics weren’t given access for 2 days. It’s outside and the weather could ruin any evidence aurely?

one of the most open and shut cases ive ever followed, the dna, forensics, the witnesses who saw them running from the body, the murder weapon found WITH THE BLOOD STILL ON IT and they've still managed to find some one out there to "create doubt"

Me too. They had so much anyway, adding extra bits like the fatty tissue and the heavy force or impact statement, and not giving full disclosure of the forensics knowledge prior to her attending. These are blunders on the lead prosecutor and cps could have easily been avoided . There is no need to fit the evidence to a theory when the evidence already screams what happened.

i feel like the "its possible" but " is it realistic" need to be clarified a lot more in court, especially for the jury who arent medical professionals.
of course its possible hes completely innocent, of course in theory he could have been weeing and heard no commotion at someone being stabbed 28 times (?) and only got blood splatter all over his clothes from checking her pulse (?) of course its possible the knife in his wardrobe had briannas blood on it from secondary transfer from when he checked her pulse (?) and he is just the unluckiest person in the world at this point...but is it actually realistic to think all those things? or should we use occum's razor here? sorry but its just utterly ridiculous

The only thing it creates doubt on is Brianna’s positioning at the point of attack and who inflicted each blow. Whether the blood on the knife has fatty tissue on or not, it’s still Brianna’s blood on a weapon the same size that inflicted the wounds.

It doesn’t change the extensive planning (that matches the crime), witnesses seeing them over the body and running off, the lies about Brianna meeting someone else etc.

In terms of convicting them both of murder, blood splatter patterns are pretty irrelevant to proving the case. I’m not worried about the two experts disagreeing. Just glad the case does not rest on it.

By all means Lucy Letby was also the unluckiest person in the world!

Doubt and possibilities were often debated on the Lucy Letby threads. Any doubt must be reasonable. Which means you can have some doubt if your average person thinks that doubt is unreasonable (for example unlikely!).

They had a medical expert (pathologist) actually say just because something is possible doesn’t mean it’s probable.

He used a good example
