Breast reduction scarring

I am in the same position, G cup boobs on a small frame and am also deciding on whether to have a reduction. A work colleague has hers reduced down to a D cup, she is over the moon with them, she said her scars are in the crease underneath in the main and the other scars are fine lines, she also scars a lot as had issues with scarring on her leg when it wasn’t expected to mark

Hey, I’m just over 5 years post op and went from a JJ cup to small enough to never wear a bra now lol. My scars are barely visible at all, they looked very dark and prominent at first but now they are just the same colour as my skin albeit a bit silvery? Hard to describe. Everyone is different though and your surgeon will give you some tips on how to help reduce scarring post surgery. Good luck!

I had breast reduction around 15 years ago and have not regretted it one bit. Although I had considerable scaring, which at one point was very noticeable, now not so much as they’ve faded quite a bit. Didn’t bother me I was too happy with my perfectly sized boobs for my body (not huge enormous ones that looked ridiculous on my small frame).

Hi all

I wondered if you had any updates for those who are thinking of having a breast reduction?
Has anyone bothered on the NHS? I assume I won’t get very far but would it be worth me going to the GP?

I feel like I have ridiculous bits! I’m size 8 , 5’3 and very small boned (all down to genetics! From my dad and mums side) but have gigantic bits.
I’m a 30G
They don’t suit my body in any way. I am very sensitive about how big they are and I get down about them. I hide them really well but I want a boob reduction.
thanks x

I tried to go through the NHS, I had medical photography done, a referral from my GP and a letter from a physio who saw me three times, each time saying there was nothing they could do about my shoulder and back pain as no amount of exercise would solve it, as well as a letter from another GP explaining the impact on my mental health too. I'm 4 foot 10, size 6, and a 30F, and I've been rejected twice. Once telling me I needed to loose weight as that would solve the problem, so I lost 2 stone and became underweight, (in everywhere apart from my bust!!) no change in my bra size, tried again for NHS funding and was rejected again.

No harm in trying but don't pin all your hopes on it!

Thank you! I’m 5’2 and they’re just annoying me, nothing fits and I have back pain. But I also just don’t like how they sit. All I’m worried about are the scars being keloid-ish as one of my others is still pink and raised. Which is fine as it’s tiny but didn’t want my entire boobs covered in pink raised skin. But if the incisions aren’t too bad I might go see what the surgeon reckons.

@AliceD369 congrats!! So glad you’ve had such a good experience. I bet you feel amazing now.
Is it an anchor scar? I don’t scar too great had one small keloid on my body and having surgery on my boobs then developed thick keloids under them. I’m sure I read it might be the weight/pressure on the scar making it worse. My friends had an uplift but only a thin white scar barely noticeable but she doesn’t scar badly. It’s risky.

However you can get injections to shrink scars to a certain degree. I’m going to give them a try.

I had a reduction just over a year ago! Went from an H to a C. Yes there’s scarring, but it’s so so worth it.

Jumping on this because am about to go fight my doctor again about a reduction, I've been fighting for years now but the depression around them is seriously getting bad, am 5ft an measuring a 30F cup, tried on a really nice dress tonight an looked a damn clown in it, I absolutely loath mine an would love them off, am sick of the back pain, shoulder pain, chest pain, nothing fitting or looking right etc, was told to lose weight an I did coming down to 7s an it made them even worse looking

If I manage to get it, what is it like pain wise after for those that have gotten it? An how long does recovery take? It's the only thing am nervous about, at this stage I couldn't even care about scarring I'd put up with it but I really don't handle pain levels too well an I don't think I'd get much time off work either

I went from a HH to a C in 2014, the scarring is minimal as my doc used internal stitches and glue. So worth it and where the scarring is, you can't see it in anything I've worn. Also managed to bf a baby after having a reduction

I hear you. I hate hate hate having such big boobs.
It looks ridiculous on me. I’m a 28/30G…..
I’m 5’3 but have a really tiny frame. I’m a size 8 and really I don’t have any weight to lose apart from my boobs. I don’t want to lose any weight, I shouldn’t have to be underweight to try and get my bits small besides even when I lose weight they stay on my boobs.
I’d bloody love to not have to wear a bra all the time.
I’ve started to reach out to private clinics, quoted me 7.5k which I think is reasonable? That includes everything.
