Never used it myself but I know a lot of YT creators got called out for promoting it. Apparently some of the therapists were a bit dodgy

I’ve also never used it but there was definitely a YouTube scandal with it a couple of years back like the poster above mentions. I can’t quite remember what happened but googled and it brought up this which has a lot of info:

Thank you, that was an eye-opener.

I have no idea. From what I can see, it seems luck of the draw?
And presumably not subject to the same regulations or codes of practice as say the NHS. Good therapy is so hard to access on a low income.

Thanks, that's what worried me. It's very expensive and are the therapists even properly trained, licensed etc?
The UK Therapists need to be. Online Therapy is booming at the moment so there are several options outside of Better Help. I've worked on the platform in the past and Better Help has its good and bad points.

Does your employer have an EAP? You can typically get eight face-to-face or Zoom sessions via that and it’s all confidential.

If you're in the UK.

My sister got a spot recently. I told her to email a few and go with the first she got a space at.

It's still £20 a session and she gets 24 weeks. It's mainly her rent of £800 a month that's the issue.
