I used to suffer really bad with hay fever and was referred to an ENT specialist, he advised I use Pirinase nasal spray daily (as well as an antihistamine tablet) and make sure when I spray it to keep it in the middle of my nose (don't sniff basically). Really simple but was a massive game changer for me and now my hay fever symptoms are very mild

Oh my, me too. I had chronic may fever from the age of 5, the only thing that stopped it was this nasel spray at the age of 40. It used to be called Rhino (I think)

That there’s no one correct way to be healthy and things (especially food) aren’t inherently split into good and bad or healthy and unhealthy.

Also, to not get sucked in by (the majority of) the health industry as it’s all just a massive profit making machine. You don’t need spirulina, maca powder, turmeric or juice cleanses. Obviously supplements have their uses but the average person doesn’t need to drink a green juice with spirulina first thing in the morning.

Take vitamin D supplements - really helps to boost my mood and fight tiredness (when I remember to take it 🙃)

Also it takes 21 days to form a habit. I’ve given up sugar before, it was hell for three weeks then I was absolutely fine and lasted a few months. You just really have to motivate yourself to get through the first 21 days

If you have an upset tummy make sure you rub it clockwise and never rub it anti-clockwise. Probably an old wives tale but it helps me lol!

Spend money on good shoes and a good mattress. If you’re not in one your in the other. A simple one but so glad I took heed!

Whenever I feel bad (even emotionally or something like flu/headache/broken ankle) my jamaican aunty always tells me to go eat a banana and sit outside for a bit and it actually really does help 🤣 it's her answer for everything but shes onto something

I am literally addicted to sugar! I’d love to go sugar free by find it’s in everything.. hence why I’m addicted. I have started buying aldi sugar free chocolate and I have cut out fizzy so small steps I guess!

Sugar is bad but we are surrounded by it without even realising.

If you buy pre packed cooked ham, turkey etc They all have sugar in them, shocking what they do to our food

That’s a good start, you’ll feel better for it! I remember only realising how rubbish I felt eating so much sugar when I stopped. On reflection, I felt quite ill

I limit my sugar now, found a nice balance where I can enjoy it without feeling dependent

Yeah I feel so sluggish and snappy. Is there any food you recommend? Thanks x

Honestly I’d say to look at your diet to identify any issues that lead to you craving sugar - make sure you’re eating enough, regularly & a good variety of food. Take a multivitamin & maybe some iron if you’re always feeling tired, if it continues you might want to consider getting a blood test (after lockdown of course!). Figuring out why you’re dependent on sugar will help you move forward. Explore some more natural options for when you’re absolutely dying for a sugar hit - check out health food sections & shops for more natural options. I rate Nakd bars, they’re mostly prunes ( ) but are genuinely amazing - the blueberry muffin one tastes just like the real deal. More expensive fruit could also be a sweet treat. Something a youtuber said has also stuck with me; she focuses on natural whole foods but allows herself to eat anything she wants providing she makes it from scratch. Theoretically she could make a Mars bar, but she finds she doesn’t want it enough to bother. In a similar vein, you could try baking with natural sugars like stevia etc? So you have the first hurdle of putting the effort in, and if you do at least it’ll be relatively healthy. Finally if you just really need an energy boost, a cup of coffee should do the trick and actually has health benefits, just obviously be mindful of anything you’re adding to it

Sorry that’s a bit long, hope it helps x
