Bereaved and angry

Evening all,

On Friday a very close family friend's son died. He was 12, and was born with severe life limiting issues including cerebral palsy. They've spent 12 years fighting for everything for him, enduring endless time in hospital, brain surgeries, heart surgeries, tube feeding....

No idea why I'm sharing, I feel pretty useless as her friend to help out, but also after a mindless scroll this evening pretty angry at influencer culture. My friend probably won't write a book, cash in on her grief, get a free kitchen reno or a hashtag gifted holiday. She'll probably have a breakdown actually.

Life is so cruel. I’m so sorry for your friend, her family and for you.

for what it is worth, your friend will have more dignity and self respect in one cell, than any of those influencers who cash in on “grief” in their entire bodies.

So sorry for the loss of your friends son. 12 is no age and it’s hard to wrap your head around the cruelty and unfairness of life.
I’m sorry it has left you feeling useless in regards to helping her out. Just know your love, compassion and being there will mean more then you currently think. It’s hard having to witness grief, knowing there’s nothing you can do to stop the pain. This is effecting you as well, so please look after yourself as well and go easy on yourself.
