I honestly don’t find Chris creepy at all. I think he seems like a good guy who has a lot of time for his kids.

Just watched the homeschool vlog. As usual I find their ‘homeschooling’ really lacking.

i just can’t agree with homeschooling at all. if anyone could teach why do teachers need qualifications to teach? homeschooling your children and teaching them yourself is wrongly assuming anyone could be a teacher

I’ve never thought about it like that, you’re so right.

I always just think school is so much more than working through a curriculum workbook which is a lot of work homeschooling seems to be. A lot of homeschool parents seem to want to protect/control what their children are learning and don’t want to expose them to the real world. At some point these children have to enter the real world though and they won’t have been prepared for it at all.

Also Parker just dancing about half singing along to a list of countries in Africa. Clearly taking nothing in, he just wanted to dance about. Jessica can’t give enough time to each of her children and when she does spend time with them the lesson is bogus.

People home school for different reasons but a lot of the time children who are home schooled are disabled, ill and/or have mental health issues. My mum home schooled a my sister and me for a vast majority of our teen years as we were both having difficulties in school and they couldn't meet our needs, granted my mum is a qualified teacher, she wanted us to have an education whilst being out of school, she would get resources from books and online, she would also take us on trips out like to the museum for an example. I knew a boy in primary school who was home schooled for a few months as he was constantly in and out of hospital as he had cancer. Some people just can't learn in a typical school environment and home schooling is the only option. Most of the time people who are home schooled have tutors and go out to groups and clubs for socialisation. My mum though qualified, doesn't believe that you need qualifications to home school your children, she believes you just need knowledge, commitment and compassion.

I do think some parents abuse home schooling but a lot of the time, parents are lovely and do as much as they can to make sure their child is gaining education and experiences whilst supporting their children in order to get their needs met.

Also some schools do hire people with no teaching qualifications into teaching positions, believe it or not, it does happen. I went to a school where teaching assistants only needed GCSES and a background check, those teaching assistants taught individuals, groups and classes when teachers where absent (which happened often).

What happened to Rachel doing vlogmas? She isn’t even putting her Tuesday or Thursday videos up on time. She’s definitely changed since girlfriend came along

There's so much weird stigma attached to homeschooling which is frustrating to people involved in the HS community that are doing it right. I know a lot of people think that the Ballinger kids aren't receiving a quality education based on how laid back the structure is during the short videos we see, but it's obvious the system they are using is working since most of the kids are very advanced for their ages.

Just an FYI, Jessica has an education degree which makes her qualifications to teach her kids fully sound.

I have several opinions/gripes about things that go on in the Ballinger Family home based on the small glimpses we get to see, but I personally feel like their education isn't lacking at all.

Is it just me or does anybody else feel like the family has forgotten about Duncan? I feel really bad for him; he seems really smart for his age, but I feel like they will focus on the other kids more (Bailey is the oldest and only girl, Jacob is the oldest boy, Parker is really loud and wont let anybody ignore him, Luke needs special medical attention, and teddy is the youngest and is a baby)

I think the kids are advanced in some areas like Jacob with his drawing and design and Duncan seems to be flying with reading & writing… but apart from that I would say they are average kids or even slightly behind from what I’ve seen..

All her videos seem half arsed now
Don’t watch her videos, never have really as she’s annoying and shouts.

I do find it annoying when people like her stop putting out content while living an amazing lifestyle, travelling etc funded from people watching her content.

I agree with you on this.....yes there education isn't the normal education but these children are constantly fed knowledge and experiences especially before the pandemic....look at there Europe trip, it was all about teaching the kids about culture and history. They are very bright and keen to learn and also have a good skill set like in cooking and building and creating things.

They also make use of online classes for specialised lessons - and this was pre-pandemic too

I was just doing a Google search to figure out if they still had their puppy (couldn't bring myself to put myself through videos...) and this thread came up. Honestly I'm so relieved their are other human being out there who have the same views as me 🤣 I thought I was a special kind of evil... !
I was quite infuriated learning they were having yet another baby, she cannot cope with the ones she had, and I was even more infuriated at them adding a doodle to the mix. They require so much dedication and attention which they just cannot give if they want a well balanced dog. I just wanted to hop on a plane and scoop it away from them! 😒

I believe so. Although they seem to have dropped the pretence that it's a support dog for Luke (which we all knew was bullshit) How you can have a support dog when you have no idea what support it will be providing is beyond me. 🤦‍♀️

She hasn't had a vlog for 9 days but did do a photo dump on Instagram yesterday! It's all very odd.
I don't think girlfriend is keen on the limelight but at the end of the day it's what pays for the house she just moved into!

Girlfriend gives me major red flags on the abusive/possessive side... i don't know, i hope 'im wrong but cuuting off people from friends and family ( and getting them replaced by your own),moving in together ( si it's not just rachel's place anymore)...remeber how Rachel was supposed to avoid going out toget back to her family bubble for thanksgiving?

I imagine Rachel bought it and she’s just living there. It is a bit weird, I don’t follow Rachel much but she seems to have dropped her family for her new partner which, it’s great she’s going out and having fun but when you’d rather hang out with new friends etc than see newborn family members it’s seems a bit out of character for someone who seemed very family oriented. She’s barely seen Luke, wasn’t it his first birthday the first time she’s seen him since birth! He didn’t have a clue who she was, or was sad to see!
