This wasn’t a home birth. It was a “free birth”.Hospitals are used for medical emergencies, people have the right to chose where to birth and use the hospital for what it is there for-in case of an emergency.
There is a huge study that shows home birth is as safe as hospital for second or subsequent birthing mothers and their babies.
Sadly babies die in hospital too, we just don’t hear about it near as much
We also don’t know why this precious baby died, unfortunately some don’t make it and wouldn’t have no matter where they were born.
Don’t get the two mixed up.
A homebirth is controlled, with midwives present, some degree of medicialisation involved to ensure safety.
Particularly following a cesearean birth to disengage from all antenatal care…God only knows her medical history as a lot will be omitted to suit the narrative unfortunately.
This was reckless and against medical advice. She’s lucky that hospitals don’t treat patients with the same contempt that these know it alls treat them until they need something. Is she at fault? No. Could this have been prevented? Maybe. Is this another tragic story used for clicks? Yes.
