Hospitals are used for medical emergencies, people have the right to chose where to birth and use the hospital for what it is there for-in case of an emergency.
There is a huge study that shows home birth is as safe as hospital for second or subsequent birthing mothers and their babies.
Sadly babies die in hospital too, we just don’t hear about it near as much 😪
We also don’t know why this precious baby died, unfortunately some don’t make it and wouldn’t have no matter where they were born.
This wasn’t a home birth. It was a “free birth”.

Don’t get the two mixed up.

A homebirth is controlled, with midwives present, some degree of medicialisation involved to ensure safety.

Particularly following a cesearean birth to disengage from all antenatal care…God only knows her medical history as a lot will be omitted to suit the narrative unfortunately.

This was reckless and against medical advice. She’s lucky that hospitals don’t treat patients with the same contempt that these know it alls treat them until they need something. Is she at fault? No. Could this have been prevented? Maybe. Is this another tragic story used for clicks? Yes.

Will Georgie and Lee do a joint divorce post with their trademark puns?!
"Sad-Lee we have learnt that it's better to have Georgia loved and lost than never to have Georgia loved at all. From now on, it's me before Lee as I move out to a new Bachelorette pad. Thanks for the Love-Lee memories. #imadivorcelee #beentoelliotandback #bachelornolongerinparadise #allgoodnondisclosedsponsoredcoupleholidaysmustcometoanend #lovelost #bebachsoon #noloveleebaby

And all these influencers especially the ones who film every moment and document every single thing about their children all have a touch of mental illness / narcissism - this new era of influencers is opening up a can of worms on people who want to exploit their children and fall into the world of clicks and likes and attention and then the real crazies come through and people have no idea what they are actually feeding into.
---
I just hope the government steps in with the new social media laws and ups the ante if your kids aren’t over 16 and you have a public platform you can’t exploit them!

As stated multiple times this wasn't a home birth it was a free birth. Extremely different things. No one is staying home births are dangerous we are saying free births are dangerous. And home births are only safe in low risk pregnancys. A free birth includes no prenatal care (and sounds like she stopped this during her pregnancy as she stopped seeing the midwife) and birth at home with no midwife/OB. These people state birthing is natural and women are meant to do it and while that's true it also used to be one of the leading causes of death for women before medical advances. It still has high mortality in developing countries were access to health care is poor.
No one is saying they don't have a right to go to hospital in an emergency. We are saying their whole belief system contradicts themselves that they're happy to start using the medical system and evil western medicine when things go wrong but won't use it to prevent these things going wrong in the first place.
"Babies die in hospital too" is the stupidest argument for a free birth I've heard I'm not even going to entertain it with a response.

A former high-flyer once married to a Miss Universe Australia beauty has been accused of stealing almost half a million dollars from his Melbourne employer.
Justin McKeone, a well-known face on Melbourne’s social circuit and ex-husband of 2017 Miss Universe Australia winner Olivia Molly Rogers, has been interviewed by police over the alleged theft.

Court documents obtained by the Herald Sun reveal Mr McKeone, who turned 37 on Friday, has been accused by his employer, a pharmaceutical sales company, of misappropriating $481,490.33 amid claims he was acting erratically and even sleeping in the work toilet for up to four hours a day.

Mr McKeone was employed in March 2024 by Cozmic Sales Pty Ltd, which trades as Rocket Brands, as Rocket’s Head of Finance on a salary of $200,000, but months later staff alerted Cozmic Sales director Matthew Holmes that Mr McKeone was acting “erratically”.

“The complaints were to the effect that staff had observed Mr McKeone sleeping in the toilets for between 1 to 4 hours a day, observed Mr McKeone taking 90-minute lunch breaks, and observed Mr McKeone leaving the office regularly without performing his duties,” Mr Holmes stated in an affidavit.

The concerned boss brought in two external accountants to investigate the company’s financial activity during the period of Mr McKeone’s employment which is when the alleged unauthorised transactions were discovered.

The court documents allege that Mr McKeone made 114 unauthorised payments totalling $481,490.33 from the company to his personal bank account between May 23 and October 6, allegedly disguising the majority of the transactions as payments to other businesses.

The court documents state that Mr Holmes met with Mr McKeone on October 14 and asked him about the transactions.

“Mr McKeone told me that he had taken funds from Rocket to support a very serious drug habit. Mr McKeone admitted to theft of company money,” Mr Holmes said in his affidavit.

“Mr McKeone told me that he would do his best to return the money but that he did not have any of the money from the impugned transactions in his bank account.”

Mr McKeone is no longer employed by the company and the court documents reveal Mr Holmes reported the alleged theft to Victoria Police in October.

Another home birth story, poor baby, I am sure a go fund me will pop up soon enough.
my thoughts as a health care worker
This woman is so dangerous to other birthing women. Trying to spin her babies death into some little magical dancing cult like “funeral”
You can clearly see if one of the photos the baby is covered in meconium. She would have done no fetal heart rate monitoring in labour. And even if she did, she’s not trained to know what to listen to and what’s normal. This babies death was entirely preventable. This woman will have to live with this forever. Make stupid choices, suffer the consequences. Will be very interested to know the autopsy findings. Not that she will ever share them. At a guess meconium aspiration. Clearly that baby was distressed during labour.

Oh my god. The only thing people should be taking away from this is how dangerous home births are
This bitch decided to free birth after requiring an emergency c section for her first. There is 100% so much missing detail in her post - she makes it sound like she had a perfectly fine labour and birth for some strange reason her Bub didn’t breathe on her own, which is so unlikely. Some shit went down and unfortunately her baby suffered the consequence of her arrogance. And then you have all the fuckwit crunchy mums praising her in the comments.

Brain injuries (including prolonged lack of oxygen during birth) can lead to brain death which will take away your ability to breath. A difficult birth could result in this and monitoring in hospital could have picked it up (if that was what happened). If there was something congenital involved it’s also possible a scan could have picked that up.

I’ve had a stillbirth and there is no way I was romanticising it online, I was literally rocking in the corner. Her behaviour seems really off to me.

A bottle of Valium? For a one year old???! Absolutely atrocious and it’s a miracle she is still alive. Brock and Alannah are absolutely fucked, the pair of them. She deserves to rot in jail and brock needs to get his fucking shit together, get off tinder and stop looking for a root, stop writing posts on Snapchat and get his kids back. I hope she sits in jail for the rest of her life. I absolutely KNEW something wasn’t right with her when she was smiling in her hospital selfies and asking people to subscribe for money. Everyone can say whatever they like about tattle however very rarely do we miss! We see things other people turn a blind eye to and boy do we cop shit for it but we’re very rarely wrong! A lot of us called this weeks and weeks ago!

This comment is absolutely fucking insane. Who are these lunatics?
WTF 😳 there is zero magic in this situation! There is absolutely nothing magical about medical neglect and sticking your head in the fucking sand and losing your precious baby. These people are absolute crackpots and this is exactly why this shit shouldn't be blasted on Instagram. These people are all existing in a circle jerk echo chamber, egging each other on. It's fucked up.

Yes, Georgia, that’s what these parents are doing to their two-year-old who has cancer. Not preserving her future fertility in case she wants children later, but teaching her that “women are only good for one thing”. Such a shitty take from her. Maybe she could try not to project her own experiences onto a two year old who has cancer and parents who are no doubt trying to make the best decisions they can in a stressful situation?
---
And she's still going.

“Sorry, darling. We know you're disappointed we didn't freeze your eggs when we had the chance but The Bachelorette decided you didn't need it. We hope your life is as happy and successful as hers, including being sacked for racism, creating a failed pyjama company and a husband you never see. Good luck!”
I read this as a huge signal that not having kids is what’s caused the split with Lee because it’s such an extreme take.
The parents are offering their child the hope of having a choice of whether she wants to have a child, not declaring she is female so she must have children Georgia, which you wouldn’t be so hung up on if it wasn’t a personal issue for you.

If you don’t want to have kids, good for you - you have the choice to do that. If it’s caused the breakdown of your marriage well that’s unfortunate but that’s the consequence of a choice you are free to make.

If any good can come out of this Harris family drama it’s hopefully new laws regarding influencers and posting of children on social media, I can’t help but wonder if all the attention from social media that she got made her crave more and more and fed her mental illness (because who does that to their baby without being mental) I wanna see an end to mummy influencers for good!

It’s also important to remember that home birth and free birth are not interchangeable descriptions. Home births that are done properly are safe and with all the properly trained and required people attending to avoid devastating situations. I don’t follow this account but this is a free birth not a home birth.

Maple leaves and Sunflower seeds- that story is so sad and tragic but it really rubbed me the wrong one how the author made the tragic death some sort of magic moment for the staff. The death of a baby would be traumatising and triggering for many of the staff. It’s not some sort of magic moment out of a movie where the staff shed a tear and magical. It’s fucking awful

Just leaving this here regarding Harris family even though they have own thread this is directed at Mikhalia who owned 26 talent and then sold to Hume whom she is now “talent” herself in her lingerie she loves photo shooting in 😂 Mikhalia I hope you are happy you had the Harris family on the books for years profiteering off the go fund mes, subscriptions, ads, blind Freddy could see this woman had a screw lose and then you keep sharing and do a dirty delete of all evidence just before the shit hits the fan and it goes public, you are scum as are most of your bottom dweller “talents” that you had on board including Sophie Guildolin I hope you address this and know you have blood on your hands.

I said it on Mikhaila’s thread and I’ll say it again here.

Alannah is the lowest of the low, but Mikhaila, you are in an industry that encourages women to exploit their children for money and fame. This is an extreme but logical extension to that. You’re on very shaky moral ground.

It’s also a great example of just how fake influencers are and clearly Mikhaila has terrible judgement. I hope they lose contracts.

They realise a baby DIED? A gorgeous little girl that may still be here if her mother made better choices. It's revolting that the mum is pushing this as a beautiful thing. I honestly get Harris family vibes

Very much a difference between a home birth with a private midwife (usually two) & free birthing on your own with a paramedic just sitting in the driveway. I’m not going to get into a debate over it, I had both my babies in a hospital under the care of an amazing midwife each time - with the knowledge that if I needed serious medical help, it was there.
Not responding to your comment directly, but on a related note, a friend of mine is an intensive care paramedic and he went to a free birth earlier in the year. The mother was in a really bad way and haemorrhaging, she almost didn’t survive. He said if the baby needed any care the mother would have died because there were no extra crews available for back-up, and he would have had to choose who to prioritise. Anyone who chooses free birth is just beyond stupid.
