Couldn't see a post for this, not sure if I've missed it or not but would love to see all your arts an crafts, I love seeing it for inspiration

Also I just ordered myself some resin an clay, has anyone else done anything with them? I was thinking about making keyrings but not sure how easy or hard that might be, last time I worked with clay was school but this will be first time working with resin, do they need a ton of tools? I just got some basic beginner tools

Things I’m interested in but don’t get round to doing:

- Fimo clay miniatures
- miniature houses/rooms 1:12 scale
- soap making
- paper flowers
- ceramic painting

I'm into sea glass right now. I live near a beach and have collected about 4 tonnes of glass. Now I'm using it make cards.

In the spring / summer I pick plants (responsibly) and press them. Throughout the rest of the year I keep finding dried petals, leaves and grasses that I've forgotten I put under piles of books.

I'd love to see some of your works, do you guys sell them? Am intrested in maybe selling my keyrings if they turn out good enough, if so is it etsy, ebay or just fb?

I love diamond painting - it's a cross between a mosaic and a paint-by-numbers, where you put little resin 'diamonds' on a sticky canvas which has the right spaces marked. It's great for mindfullness.

I'm also getting into making mini collages (business card sized) - I'd be interested in card making but I wouldn't have a use for them so this scratches that itch - and it's small enough that if it doesn't work out then it's no big deal.

Oh nice, I actually just started the diamond art myself recently, got some for my Xmas, found it to be really relaxing, got mine done in just under a week with a few hours each night, this is mine, am looking forward to doing the others

I started making resin art last year. Keyrings are actually nice and simple, as are things like coasters and small trays. Make sure you have a clear surface and enough space. If you want to make things coloured get some Micah powder or glitters - we can mix them in as you mix up the resin to pour. Always wear gloves, always 🤣🤣 That stuff is a nightmare to get off your hands, and gloves are a life saver.

You can get some good moulds on Amazon, and stock up on lolly pop sticks/stirrers to help mix your resin together. And a tray 🤣 sounds really stupid but I always end up with resin dripping so using a tray saves on a panicked clean up 🤣🤣

Fire away with questions, I'm happy to help!

My main hobby is cross stitch, which I'm addicted to! And I love to diamond paint as well 😊

The tray is also really helpful for moving the moulds out of the way once you've finished. You just need those disposable gloves as it can get really sticky, and getting it off your hands is a pain.

Ohh I've never used a UV light with mine. Is that to help with air bubbles?

The resin I used said to leave for 24 hours and definitely make sure to leave it for the time it says to harden, otherwise the letters will bend out of shape when you attach the keyrings. I destroyed a few in the process 😂 Have fun experimenting! And definitely share some pictures!!

Ah I've no idea lol, I just was told the uv was to harden the resin, am not sure about air bubbles, when I got my resin I picked it up thinking I needed to have it, I didn't know you could leave it alone itself to harden up

I'm definitely going to have to look into getting one if it speeds up the hardening!!! The bigger pieces can take an age when left on their own😂😂😂

Oh no!! Bloody typical that 😂 I'm sure they will turn out fine if you leave them for a day or two to harden!!

I know, I was looking it up to see how long I needed to use the uv light for an that's when I noticed it, thankfully I looked it up before just going ahead as it apparently discolours it, I'll pick up some uv resin at some point as I'd love to see just how fast it cures an I'll use the other stuff for when am fine at just leaving it sitting

I've left my little letters in a room till tomorrow, doesn't look like there's many air bubbles, I did find it quite hard to pop them while I was stirring it

Did you experience any nauseating fumes/odors from the resin? I’ve never used it before but like to try experimenting with it but I’m cautious of fumes making me feel sick or making eyes itch.

Some does have quite a strong smell but I bought some by Craft Resin on Amazon which is pretty much odourless. I wore a mask the first few times I made items just incase of any strong fumes, but this stuff was really good and I found I didn't need it.

Not as far as I was aware I didn't, I never wore a mask or anything, I didn't know I had to, I wasn't super close to it though but it wasn't strong enough for me to notice it if it did have a smell to it or not

Might give it a bash then 🙂
I’ve been watching lots of resin art making videos on YouTube and it does look fun.
