Anyone have spendy light coverage foundation recommendations?

I’m 40+ with combination skin pores wrinkles etc

Quite fair my most successful purchases have been Tilbury Light Wonder in Fair 2 which was pretty perfect and Bare Minerals Complexion rescue in Vanilla also great but perhaps too hydrating for my hormonal chin

most recently I bought Armani Luminous Silk in 4 it was too yellow I’m proper neutral and too much coverage
I prefer barely there on my whole face then concealer where I need it

I only wear spendy make up as I keep my make up minimal I can justify the cost as it lasts ages

Hello! And happy new year!
I’m looking forward to seeing the replies on this as I’m always keen to hear about good natural looking make up.
I currently use the bare minerals complexion rescue too which I think is pretty good.
I would recommend Nars pure radiant tinted moisturiser. Gives a nice light, natural coverage but can be layered up a bit if needed.
I also swatched a bit of Bobbi Brown tinted moisturiser on the back of my hand not long ago and it’s definitely something I’m going to try in the future.
Good luck!

As you mentioned - Charlotte Tilbury light wonder is my go to for light and Armani luminous silk for more if I need it - really rate both!

I've always steered clear of matte foundations because I don't think they give a natural look. Two foundations I found they stay put and give a dewy complextion are Nars sheer glow and bobby brown rich moisture foundation.

Happy new year!

I swear by the IT Cosmetics CC Cream. It has lovely coverage without looking heavy at all and it doesn’t highlight any fine lines or dry skin. Haven’t used anything else in 5 years

I’d definitely recommend Mac face and body. It’s beautiful and a very light coverage which can be built up if needed.

You could also try the Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser which is lovely!

A make up artist once told me about Perricone foundation- she said she used it for a lot of wedding, esp abroad as it’s so light and very buildable. So I did get one and I have to say it’s beautiful. I usually wear it when I don’t want too much of a heavy coverage and I’m just doing day to day things like the shopping. It looks as though it evens your skin out but doesn’t look like you are wearing make up! Very pleased with it.
but I also love Georgio Armani luminous silk. That’s my absolute favourite! But I find the coverage slightly heavier than the Perricone, and I use it for work and special occasions as I feel it lasts ages and always looks flawless. So I usually switch between the two.

I couldn’t get away with the heavy feeling of the it cc cream I threw them away barely used so I deffo like a light weight one

ah yes Mac face and body I forgot about that I got a sample pot and it was pretty good I liked how watery it was but the limited colour range meant it was slight off but I got away with it there’s no spf in it is there? Not that I rely on a base for spf but a bit extra is handy

Perricone I’ve heard of but have no clue about it will have a look

There’s no SPF but with the amount foundation you actually put on your face it makes SPF in foundations redundant. You’d need to apply a huge amount to actually get any added protection. You’re always best just using a separate SPF - some can even double up as primers - and then choosing whichever foundation you wish. The Mac face and body isn’t a huge shade range but as you said because it’s so sheer you can always find one to suit.

This!! SPF must be applied separately to actually work. La Roche Posay Anthelios is great. I wear it under all of mine and it’s fine
