Alison Hammond

When did Alison Hammond become some kind of UK TV royalty? I hear this a lot. People on YouTube commenting how she's a British tv icon, but since when? Granted, she used to conduct some fun interviews in the past, but I'm surprised she's as sought after as she is. I like Will Best, I think he is a good presenter, and would probably thrive in better roles. I am sure there are other presenters out there who would do an equally good job, but they never get seen or promoted to better opportunities. I dislike how the likes of ITV continually use the same people for most of their shows. There seems to be less and less meritocracy in TV and radio these days, and more so on what they have done in the past, how big of a name they are, or their family connection. How do any up and coming presenters get their foot in the door?

I saw DeNiro interviewed by Seth Myers recently, who knew exactly how to deal with him.
He was more engaging than usual and was even smiling and laughing.
Alison's fun interview style is not a good fit... she had him playing games and called him "babs". He didn't look impressed.
Graham Norton is good with him too. I think he knows you can get the quiet version or the very quiet version of DeNiro, on any given night, and he adjusts his style, accordingly. AH wouldn't have a clue. It makes me cringe that she thought that was in any way appropriate to 'interview' anyone.

I like Alison, but I think she possibly assumed that she could be as loud and breezy with RDN as she was with Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling a few years ago, but perhaps he wasn’t quite as game as they were.

Because TV can't be racist if they have her in their show see we aren't racist, see?

Exactly; It couldn't be more obvious that she doesn't like dogs at all and is Only There For The Mortgage.
I don't watch the programme any more because she just riles me
Same here. Can't bear to watch it now.

I absolutely loved Paul O'Grady and adored him even more because of his love for dogs and all animals.

That Alison Hammond will go down in history as one of the most baffling replacements for such a wonderful man. I feel so sorry for the staff and the animals having to deal with her.

she even popped up in Last One Laughing to spoil the programme. Why has she got such a big face? She looks like the elephant man.

Can you imagine if she'd killed Bob Mortimer from shock? B1tch.

There are so many presenters out there who love animals as much as Paul did, so it’s baffling as to why they chose her?

This breaks my heart. Paul would be mortified the gig went to her. Paul's legacy deserved so much more, he was a true dog/ animal lover. He dedicated so much time, money, love and his life to dogs and animals. It's a massive slap in the face to see her presenting it, I don't watch it anymore, I just can't. I still think Pete Wickes would have been a great fit for it.
She doesn't deserve it and I think she's hard faced for accepting the role if I'm honest!

This Morning showed a behind the scenes on FTLOD earlier and Dr Scott said the show stars Alison Hammond.
She's getting slagged off on Twitter again... people are saying the dogs are the stars, not Alison.
This is the problem, everything is all about her.

To be fair, that's other people saying it stars her, that's not on her.

Just had a look at tonights TV - ITV - Bradley and Barney - 8.30 Love of Dogs - Alison Hammond. - 9.00 Kate Garraway Life Stories.
Who on earth thinks this is a good schedule. Then turned it over and it Stacey and Joe. Dear God.
And I thought Netflix was a waste of money 😬
