The whole thing is fascinating and insane. I too read the article but I thought it was clear by the end that the video was *never released*? Which would leave the prick who made it a prick who made an unauthorised sex tape, but would remove the revenge part.
EDIT: I reread the article. It's very badly written.
Basically, she asserts at the beginning that she heard the video had been in circulation (easy to defend).
First: "I am a victim of Revenge Porn..."
Second: "There are some people who will read this piece and remember the time they heard about “Ali Ryan’s sex tape”. The rumour [my italics] of its existence became salacious gossip in Dublin social circles about five years ago."
Third: "The day I found out that there was a video of me having sex with a man I trusted, not only in existence, but in circulation [my italics] was the worst day of my life."
But she does not mention, at all, when or how the rumour was substantiated.
By the end, it's looking much more likely that the video was never released: "When I start seeing someone new I tell them the whole story, in case they have heard about it or in case the video comes out." [my italics]
It's clear that that Lindsey horror was behind it, as the pattern she describes exactly matches that of the infamous Jimmy situation. The narcissistic abuse and threats that Ali Ryan suffered are horrifying and if not currently illegal, should be.
Some of the key info comes from para 2: "A lot of people have asked me why I set up my ‘Bare It’ campaign this summer and what it was really all about. For me, it was about taking back my body and finally getting to control the narrative."
So there was porn and horrible psychological abuse from a narcissistic sociopath, which are terrible things to befall a person and for which Ali deserves kindness and consideration.
There may not have been revenge porn, which would make less of a claim and diminish the wispy justification for the narcissistic kettle of absolute bullshit that is the 'Bare it' campaign.
If there was revenge porn, the kettle would be no less unjustified, but it would be very good if Ali was going public to be completely clear about it, and crucial for her to name names and go after the person/people involved.

Her McGregor fandom is unforgivable. It is well known in Dublin that the most serious accusations that have been made of him are unambiguously merited.

We don't even know what the situation is. She said it was revenge porn, which is when someone releases private footage of you having sex, but then she says it wasn't, because the footage hasn't been released.
Her “true” account of what happened is very very different to what actually happened. But hey, once she’s the victim in it, that’s all that matters.
