Adam starts by saying that
all the top level online ticket for the tower were sold out, they only had second level,
so he didn't bother buying one. But, that
it says you could show up and get a ticket to the top in person.
He says he had the same experience at Notre Dame the day before - all sold out online, but was able to show up in person and get in no problem.
Of course this is not an apple-to-apple comparison, and Notre Dame only has one type of admission. The Eiffel Tower has many different options. But Woo thinks it'll be no problem at all. So he's not going via a third party or anything, he's just walking over and getting in line.
I literally cannot imagine being in Paris and the entire plan for the day is: Eiffel Tower and McDonalds. That's all, that's it
Adam's on Day 18 of this trip and he's still giving the time in Paris, the time in Florida and the time in California.
He walks over, gets in the "non-ticketholder line", goes through security
and then sees a sign that the summit is closed due to a "technical incident".
Adam seems to be confused by the different options (you can choose a ticket with or without the elevator, or you can just walk up to the first level for free).
The line is VERY long and Adam doesn't want to wait (who would've thought in the middle of the afternoon???). He ends up getting out of line and buying his ticket online on his phone,
but the only option online is the one to take the stairs the entire way to the second floor
He also buys a hot coffee in a plastic cup (great combo) which is so hot that he can't hold it. He has to get napkins to wrap around it,
and he begins to climb the stairs with the camera in one hand and the hot coffee in the other. Genius.
Adam reaches the first floor (this is the easy part). He gets excited when he sees the display about the various movies that the tower has been featured in (of course he hasn't seen any of them except Ratatouille, Superman and European Vacation)
Sudden cut to the second level. There is no talk at all of it being difficult or strenuous, so you can be sure it was and he didn't talk during it because he was totally winded and about to die.
The little prep Adam does these days, he does for only the most important things to him, like this,
but even then he can only manage awful screenshots from low-res YouTube clips
He thinks he finds the exact spot in this shot (I doubt it, there are many of these around the perimeter and several yellow railings for the several staircases down. Regardless, he says "
Obviously, this thing has a lot more significance than just European Vacation, but cannot not show that while I'm up here."
Please tell us more about the other significance it has, Adam? We'll wait while you gather your thoughts.
"The walking down will probably be a lot easier than the walk up".
Probably, but only probably. He'd say "The sun is probably hotter than the moon."
He walks down because he doesn't want to be in an elevator with other people.
Back on the first level, he explains in the most confusing way possible the difference between the ground floor in the US and the EU being either 0 or 1 numerically.
AND, THE MOST (REALLY THE ONLY) IMPORTANT PART
He then decides that he WILL take the elevator down from the first level (because there's not many people waiting for it). He becomes annoyed though, because the elevator shows up packed with people from the second level

.
"There's no elbow room in this thing. Yeah, probably would have been faster to walk, but I did it."
Yes, so brave, took an elevator! I'd love for a reporter or someone at the bottom to come up and ask Adam the name of the man who designed the Eiffel Tower and see if he could come up with something
Then he walks back over to the site of Diana's car crash (or as he says "where she passed away").
A weak "
Eh, very sad, very sad" is all Adam can muster up for Diana. He spends more time trying to find suitable graffiti to show
Off to McDonald's. "
I don't think I'm gonna get a full meal. I just want a Royale with Cheese." Says Adam. What else would make a "full meal" at McDonald's? Fries? Certainly you'll get something to drink, even if it's just water.
He just endlessly refers to a Royale with Cheese and the line from the movie, before he even buys it. Inside, he sees it on the menu and says "
Royale with Cheese" (even though it says "Royal Cheese", not Royale with Cheese). He taps it and it loads into his bag display and he again says "
Royale with Cheese"
Cut to: "I went ahead and got TWO OF THEM."
Of course you did, big boy, of course you did.
He complains how long it took to make them, Karen The Woo waited too long for his Royales with Cheese!
Now, Adam just climbed up and down the Eiffel Tower.
Who knows the last time he washed his hands. If he washed his hands, it was in the bathroom of a McDonald's in Paris. He COULD just eat by holding the burger in the wrapper.
NOPE, he picks it up with his bare hand, as you knew he would. BUT DON'T DARE SNEEZE NEAR HIM!!! Gotta get that sweet, sweet thumbnail, you know
Adam says it tastes better than the US version. He would know, he eats fast food most days of his life. He also says Royale with Cheese 80 more times.
Two quarter pound cheeseburgers are not enough...gotta get a caramel crepe from a random place on the street that probably sucks.
Can you imagine the side view, how far out the belly is jutting?
The vlog is over.
He showed the hotel because today his is checking out, 100%. That is the only time he ever reveals the hotel like this.
He said at the start that this was a "
3 week trip" (give or take a day, of course).
This video was day 18 and today is day 19.
So it all comes down to this:
- A) He could be flying home from Paris today
- B) He could be taking the train back to London today and flying home from London tomorrow or Sunday (this is the most ridiculous option)
- C) He could be headed to Disneyland Paris today to be there today and tomorrow, and could leave Sunday or Monday.
A is by far the
least likely in my mind
B is the
most ridiculous, and that alone makes it a strong contender
C is certainly a very good possibility -
assuming you think he is ok spending just a few days there
I always assumed he would want to spend like 4 full days doing everything at DLP, but maybe you don't need that long (I don't know a lot about DLP, never been)?
And maybe I'm overestimating his desire to see it all?
Maybe because of the language thing and the fact that it's like the US parks but not - just different enough that he has no nostalgia for it and he compares in his head and wants Disneyland/WDW to win.
