Well, I don't even know when to start, but basically pretty much all of us are always on the look out for new products which actually work and we can them add them to our skincare routine. I've stopped listening to the products bloggers and Youtubers recommend for obvious reasons. So I would always look up reviews online ahead of purchasing! Thought we could something along those lines on here and share the love of products we love!
I live in Portugal, which does have glorious summer, going from May until November. Sorry, who lives in the UK! [emoji87]
Anyways, I've aaaaaalways loved sunbathing, flipping the pancake and then go home, take a shower, put some after-sun and soak up all that Vitamine D!
I then moved to London and I couldn't cope with the depressing summers, so I started going to a sunbed and I loved it! It felt so good and I was feeling and looking great with my golden tan. Of course I told everybody else, I had gone to the park for a bit and just tan really easily! [emoji23][emoji23] My skincare routine up to this point, if you call it that was a tit foam and moisturizer from the supermarket, period. I never ever wear make up, maximum of 5x a year tops. And to be fair, I really credit tit foam and mouisturizer for being 34 and completely wrinkle free!
Recently I had a huge scare due to my years of wreckless sunbathing, had to have a mole removed, but thankfully I don't have skin cancer!!!
This has really opened my eyes in terms of how important it is to look after your skin, so I went to a brilliant dermathologist, who suggested the following. Oh important to note that I have pigmentation over on my forehead, little bits on each cheek and rosacea, oh and oily and sensitive skin!
Anyways, this is what she recommended for me: This first 2 are specifically for who has rosacea and prone to overall redness:
Photo 1. Uriage Roseliane to cleanse, remove make-up and soothes. Apply with cotton pads.
Photo 2. Bioderma Foaming gel, which soozes and mouisturizes. Apply after washing face with water, gently apply foam, rinse and clean carefully!
Photo 3. Uriage Roseliane Mouisturizer cream, hydrates, apaises, decreases redness and soothes - APPLY ONLY IN THE AM
Photo 4. Caudalie Vinoperfect Dark Spot Correcting Glycolic Night Cream - APPLY ONLY AT NIGHT. My sister and so many other women have raved so much about this cream! I'm loving it too!
Photo 5. This one is a stronger cream for rosacea, Metroderme metronidazol. Only from pharmacies, but it's miraculous. One dose and the difference is shocking!.
Photo 6. Vichy Idealia Eyes, anti-fatigue eye care. It's wonderful and my overly sensitive eyes react really well to it!
Photo 7. Lastly, most important of all is very high protection! Foto Ultra 200 ISDIN Active Unify Fusion Fluid Colour
This is the bomb! It's such an incredible cream, not thick at all and has a slight tone to it, which perfectly hides blemishes!

Now I can't wait to hear your recommendations and skin struggles, if you have any?

I love this thread! I don't have much to offer - I really mean to stump up the money to see a dermatologist with my rosacea next time I have any spare cash. I've tried everything over the counter and Metrogel (very well might be what you posted @Meg1912 but applying twice a day didn't make much difference) on prescription but the thing that's kept it at bay is this creme and balm.

Along with avoiding the sun and strenuous exercise. It's so frustrating having something where they recommend not to exercise with. The pain annoyed me more than anything else and an office with AC on year round really aggravated it.

@Yel, yes, that's definitely the one I'm using for rosacea! What a shame it didn't work for you. I'm on day 3 of using it once a day and it has completely erased any signs of rosacea, it's insane! I'm so relieved I've finally found a cream to keep rosacea at bay.
Those two you suggested have such great reviews, I might look give one a try to see if it works as it is a natural cream!
One thing I forgot to say was I used to exfoliate every 10 days, but that's terrible for rosacea as it's too harsh! So no exfoliation for me and always use cold water as warmer or hot water is also terrible for it!
I really suggest going to a dermatologist as it was so helpful and I learnt so much! It is an investment, but really makes a huge difference using the right products for our skin and I'm definitely sticking to my new routine as I already notice a huge difference for the better! It's like I had a facial, except I haven't! [emoji23][emoji23]

The main piece of advice I have, is wear SPF every day on your face. I don't mean a moisturiser or foundation with added SPF, I mean a pure one.

I wear Vichy SPF 30 (https://www.vichy.co.uk/ideal-soleil) daily and have done since I was 18. A cheaper favourite is Garnier Ombrielle's face SPF or Hawaiian Tropic face SPF (https://www.boots.com/hawaiian-tropic-silk-hydration-airsoft-face-spf-30-10242738). I am 27 and look young and with minimal skin damage. Former high school classmates of mine who I know used sun beds and drank/smoked a lot, look years older than me.

Also, I really recommend products with hyaluronic acid. My favourite is La Roche Posay hylau b5 serum.

And also Pixi glow acid.

For cleansers:
Vichy one (https://www.vichy.ca/en/purete-ther...cgid=Face-Cleanser#start=9&cgid=Face-Cleanser)
The Body Shop Chamomile cleansing butter: https://www.thebodyshop.com/en-ca/f...ous-cleansing-butter-makeup-remover/p/p000186
Garnier Micellar water gel wash: https://www.garnier.co.uk/skin-care/beauty/garnier/micellar/micellar-cleansing-gel-wash

Moisturiser:

Oh I will definitely purchase the La Roche Posay serum, it seems incredible!
Yeah you're right, it's soooo important to apply SPF every single day, including colder months! On that topic, I watched this video the other day and thought it was so interesting! "UV camera reveals the best way to apply sunscreen"

I will have to watch that! Cancer research had a stand set up where they used imaging to show how sun damaged your skin was. Mine was barely damaged and I was so happy.

I developed rosacea about six months ago and tried all kinds of crap from a dermatologist. Nothing worked and a lot made it worse. Then I caved in and bought niacinamide, azelaic acid, and hyaluronic acid from The Ordinary. Used the niacinamide for about a week and it cleared all the redness completely. The Azelaic acid helped clear up the bumps and break outs. The hyaluronic acid healed the dryness. I am so relieved and it was a very cheap solution for me.

I've been struggling to get my Rosacea under control and have been prescribed Soolantra (ivermectin) cream.
I'm only a few days into using it but hopeful for good results.

Hands down cannot beat the ordinary.

I have a skin care regime from them but also use body shop cleansing balm and then run a pad with miceller water over the top. I also use nip & fab glyclonic cleanser in the morning.

Good to hear this. I’ve just ordered 5 products. I’ll be 40 in July,my skin is in decent condition because I’ve always cleansed and moisturised religiously and never been a sunworshipper. Living in Scotland probably helps 😄 It can tolerate pretty much any product and does lean to the drier side of normal I would say. More in tightness if I don’t moisturise than actual flakiness.

I swear by Pixi Glow Tonic- I notice such a difference in my skins texture when I use it. I also LOVE Clinique Moisturesurge intense. I used to think I was quite wrinkly around my upper cheek/eye area but then I used this and realised I must have a dehydrated skin. This really plumps it up. Hylauronic acid really is my holy grail ingredient. I also rate the Cerave hydrating cleanser.

I want to try the pixi glow tonic. I really hear good things.

I use Estée Lauder intense eye repair. I think I’m going to try the ordinary caffeine eye cream when I run out.

When I first started with the ordinary product I really broke out for about a week or two but persevere as it clears and then you seriously see amazing results. I use their borage oil which smells disgusting - like chicken skin haha. It’s so good though so don’t want to switch to another.

What did you order?

Chicken skin 😂

I’ve ordered the hylarunonic acid 2% serum and moisturising factors for the AM. Buffet, granactive retinoid 2% in squalane and the rosehip oil for night. Will continue to use my Cerave cleanser and glow tonic alongside.

I really fancied trying new bits and the reviews for lots of the products are fab.

I've also bought some more of TO to play with. Mandelic Acid 10% + HA, EUK 134 0.1%, 100% Plant-Derived Squalane, and Buffet. Tried Buffet first and really impressed. My skin is definitely brighter and smoother after two weeks. That is staying in my new routine. The mandelic acid is supposed to be great on hands.

I will give the butter a try. I use any old micellar water but I’m a mascara junkie and I find some need a bit more help to remove.

@Sabbie, good to hear you’re getting good results.

I love the Palmers Anti Aging Therapy with Ah/Bha’s for my body, especially before I go on holiday. It stinks but the results are worth it.

My holy grail of body scrubs was the Superdrug vitamin E,I used it religiously for 18 years then they discontinued it and brought out a crap replacement 😭 I like the granules to be naturally and scrubby.

Morning , I do love a skincare thread , can I jump straight in ?

I did use a lot of TO and really liked the products but I’m a butterfly and always try new stuff unless I really love something .

I’m a sucker for Beauty Pie ; the Japanfusion cleanser and Ultralight SPF are, imo, absolutely fantastic and I do repeat buy these. I also buy their retinol and have bought some make up which I’m happy with.

I have suffered badly with Rosacea pretty much all my adult life and have lost count of how many creams/gels/moisturisers I have used. I also recently bought Rozex from the online service at Superdrug which I have been using for a month or so but not convinced of much impact.

After looking on this forum I decided to try the Argan Organics balm and moisturiser and wow what a difference after a couple of days use. It hasn't cleared it completely but a vast improvement. Sooo pleased to have something which finally works. Thanks for the recommendation 😄

I’m a bit of a make up and skin care addict. I’m always buying new products.
My go to’s though are clarins extra firming day cream, pixi glow tonic, Emma hardy balm cleanser or liz Earle polish. Pola night cream.

A couple of years ago I treated myself to that Creme de la mer moisturiser my skin has never been so irritated. I was so disappointed.

I’ve tried La Mer too, it didn’t irritate my skin but it didn’t improve it either and don’t get me started on the process of warming it between your fingers and all that application palaver !

Cleansing AM: Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish
Cleansing PM: Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm + LE C&P
Toner: LE Instant Boost Skin Tonic (Holy Grail product for me)
Moisturiser AM: at the mo Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream - love this, but sometimes I go back to LE Skin Repair Light
Moisturiser PM: at the mo Elemis Pro Collagen Night, I've just finished using a small sample of their Overnight Matrix which seemed quite nice
Exfoliator: LE Gentle Face Exfoliator but I want to try an acid-y one when this tube is finished. I have a tub of Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Pads but am a bit scared to use them!
Mask once a week: Some L'Oreal Clay crap which I won't buy again. I used to like a Superfacialist mask so will probs buy that when I've got through this

I use tea tree oil if I get a spot, or actually I find putting on a dab of either the Cleanse and Polish or Gentle Face Exfoliator helps quite a bit (obv I only do this when I'm at home and not likely to see anyone 😆

I have Micellar water for occasions when I'm feeling lazy; Garnier at the moment which I won't buy again as I have had a few spots if I use it too often
